I'm looking for a 22" LCD. I'm going crazy reading reviews. Just when I think I found the right monitor, there's a catch like bleeding or humming noises, etc. Anyone here have a 22" LCD recommendation from their own experience? Two things I know I don't like are glossy trim and a glass screen. My GPU is a single 9800 GTX. I do some gaming but not a lot of super intense stuff - mostly do photo work. Thanks!

Get either Dell 2208WFP or the latest 22" Samsung model.

Nothing is perfect, but some success rates can be better than others.  If you find one that's in your price range that has a pretty decent ratings/reviews (why I'm a newegg fanboi), then go with it.  There's always a chance that something that you purchase is going to be defective.

Personally I'm a fan of Acer, Hanns-G, and Samsung.  Go with the company that you've had a good track record with.

When I got my new rig, I figured it was time to upgrade from my 19 inch CRT.  I got lots of input on the boards here and ended up taking the advice of many who suggested I go with a Samsung SyncMaster 225 BW. (22 inch flat panel).

I run all of my games maxed out and it is the best looking monitor I have ever had or seen.  I am beyond pleased with it.

I did a lot of web searching and got it from one of the vendors on Pricegrabber.com.  It was way cheaper than anywhere else, had a 50 buck mail in rebate, no tax and FREE shipping.  From the day I ordered it until the day it showed up on my door step was three days!

Samsung make a great monitor, and has won many awards, they make some of the fastest (I picked my monitor) because it has a 2ms response time, very unusual for an LCD. It also has great color saturation, no blur, amazing detail and great view angle.

I am extremely pleased with my Samsung monitor (I have the 225GW) only difference from the BW is mine has a glossy screen, looks crispy in the dark but in very bright conditions gets reflections... but I like gaming with no lights on anyway, makes the graphics look all the cooler :) so that does not bother me.

If you game in a brightly lit environment I reccomend the BW model :)

Samsung has a current 22" LCD however that is actually an improvement on the previous design, that is usually the way it works.

Try the Samsung T220.  It's the only one on newegg that I found that's 22" and 2ms response.
