Topic: Bolt X Posted: 06 Jan 2018 at 4:10pm |
So I have been doing a lot of looking around and I mean a lot. I have a Velox now and it has been the best computer I have ever owned, no issues the entire time(besides Windows 10 upgrading).
I love Digital Storm and how much time and testing they put into there units..I really want to stick with them but the one thing that is keeping me from buying today is cases. I really want a nice looking case, I like my Velox but to it would be nice to look at something new. I have all the room in the world for cases so the Bolt X would be just for the sleek look of it. I never want to SLI again. I do not have any desire for LC. Will there be heat issues w/o the LC inside the Bolt? Am I being to damn picky about my case? I really want the Aventum, but with out LC is it a big waste of a case? Plus the 400$ shipping charge kinda sucks..thoughts? The Lumos looks cheap to me and the Slade is way to boring imo. Maybe adding a bunch of color and rgb to a Velox? |

So why don't you find a case from corsair or lian li or other case makers and when you find the one you like ask DS to use that case.
The bolt does not have much airflow, i would go with aio. And yes you are being too damn picky, but it is your money, so you get to be what you want, to us tho, picky Aventum on air would only be a waste since that case is really for lc + sli Edited by DST4ME - 06 Jan 2018 at 4:16pm |

Why that is the best part of a custom builder, you get to request what you want, it will just cost a small fee to use parts not already offered.
It doesn't have to be corsair, you can purchase the part and send it to them to use in your case. My DST in my sig was all custom ordered, the case they had just brought on themselves, everything else was custom request. |

lol DST is 10 years old, its got a 6core, quad gpus, but I have 2 loops one for cpu and one for quad gpu, triple rad inside top, triple rad outside, 12 qcd, of course with each loop comes a reservoir and pump. 850 ssd pro x4 internal, 4 wd red pro 2tb external, 4 wd black external, 1500w 20amp strider, corsair 900D.
Ek acrilic / nickel gpu waterblock x 4 Bith rads are in push pull Totall of 18 led fans DMM you can see in the review section, that will be upgraded to 16 core and next gen gpu Edited by DST4ME - 06 Jan 2018 at 4:35pm |

Will a 1080 handle 2k gaming at good fps and max settings ? Or would it be a safe bet for a 1080ti and pay the extra for it. Overwatch, Destiny examples

1080 will give you what you want at 1440p in overwatch.
Destiny 2, even 1080 ti can't break 100 fps. If your monitor is 60hz, then 1080 ti is all you want /need. If your monitor is 144hz then your decision. Edited by DST4ME - 08 Jan 2018 at 11:03pm |

Well I'm glad I was being very picky and waited. That Velox X case looks sexy. The new Modena looks nice. Hope the wait is not too long for them

An excellent case for building an air-cooled system in would be the DAN A4-SFX.
You can get it with acrylic side panels, has enough space for large 2-slot cards (like EVGAs...but it can't handle 2.5-slot cards like the ASUS STRIX), uses mITX boards (which have near feature parity with full size ATX boards), and SFX & SFX-L PSUs (which can be had up to 800W now, way more than enough). Another option may be the Louqe Ghost S1 with a little more GPU compatibility (2.1-slot vs. 2-slot). It doesn't have an option for acrylic side panels, yet, but it does have height expandability, if you want to add it. Last option I'll post is the NCASE M1. Plenty of flexibility inside the case. It has 3 slots for the GPU and doesn't use a PCI-e riser...the GPU plugs directly into the board as normal. It is a little larger than the A4-SFX and Ghost S1, but still relatively small. It has perforated side panels and I do not believe acrylic or glass will be offered with it. Edited by - 18 Jan 2018 at 6:20pm |

Those are real nice. I like that Dan A-4 SFX. You can tell the size when looking at the card! Wow.
Thanks. |
