Just when you thought you were getting to grips with your carbon footprint, along comes another greenhouse gas that'll roast the world to death – and this time it's your monitor that's at fault.

According to CNet, quoting a study in the Geophysical Research Letters journal published on the 26th of June this year, nitrogen trifluoride – a gas used in the production of LCD displays and various semiconductors – may well be proving more damaging to the environment than the current villain de jour, carbon dioxide.

I get the feeling that scientists today are like priesthoods were back in the middle ages. They decide what is right and wrong, and the masses must believe it or pay the concequences. Whats funny is they are both totally wrong in their beliefs.

*correction* if you want to produce it at an affordable or competitve price, it will be bad for earth in some way. its an unfortunate truth that we all basically just have to live with. nothing lasts forever, at least nothing that humans get thier hands on

Well, I'm down for it being a little warmer anyhow, it was too cold here last winter. And breathing causes carbon dioxide, so if you hold your breath while you watch your LCD it will all even out.
