- Beta is expected for early 2009 with a release in early 2010.
- Supports up to 256 CPUs (okay...) - Faster, uses less RAM (apparently runs fine on labtop with a 1GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM) - The annoying UAC is more customizable - No more sidebar, gadgets can be anywhere on the screen - Multi-touch - GPU Acceleration - Drastically Improved Networking - Improved multi-monitor management ... and more -.^ Ars Technica Windows 7 Media Center details @ We Got Served More coverage @ Engadget Windows Team Blog |

They aren't going to change the way you navigate to use a computer. That would be ludicrous, everyone would have to re-learn basic computing essentials.
They are optimizing the internal core, and enhancing the user interface.
Finally the things that Vista should of came with.
Warm Regards,
Alex

its got a vista core, vista changed a bit the way you move around as far as how the local address bar looks and such and that is what I was referring to.

So when I order with Vista, I'm getting the 2008 version of Me. An operating system with problems that will be gone a year after I buy it.

Well I wouldn't say that.... As far as I'm concerned Vista is still gonna be used still for stuff like Direct X 11 and such...
Since another purpose of Windows 7 was to establish Direct X11. At least from what I understand. I could be wrong. Edited by Axel Daemon - 06 Nov 2008 at 9:41pm |

Oh speaking of which, any confirmation that Windows 7 sound architect would be different or improved? That way stuff like Creative doesn't act all crippled anymore ahaha.
(Then again Asus' approach at software based DSP is still a breakthrough though. So probably won't matter.) Edited by Axel Daemon - 11 Nov 2008 at 12:45am |
