 I hope not. I DL'ed it then finished reading the thread . I trust DST 100%. I scanned it and it shows no threats of any kind, but I havent opened it either as of yet, only DL'ed it to my desktop. BTW DST can I have a link to your freeware site, and what name do you use on it?

the name of the site and link to it is the image in my sig, the left will get you to the site and the right side will get you to the forum.
On the site we don't really post, we just update it. I have not only downloaded clickster but I have run it and used it, there is no virus, as always everybody should scan any download as the server you are downloading from can be infected, but the app itself is clean, and when I downloaded it and installed it, there was no virus. Avast! pops up with a message "stopped connection to bla virus detected" (something close to that vanished to fast for me to really get a good look at the virus name. i could look at the log but i am to lazy.) something realy close to that. they need to run a scan. hehe.

oh, just thought about it some more. sometimes it is the ad on the sites that are infected. that happens to me sometimes when just surfing random sites on the web.

Honestly there is nothing wrong, avast is as usual giving you a false positive
 which is one of many reason why I don't use it
you can't get a virus from ads, the only way for you to get a virus here is if you install something that has a virus. Just to be sure, I downloaded it again and scaned it with both nod32 and spysweeper:  Edited by DST4ME - 10 Apr 2009 at 3:17pm |

well only trust the app right now, the site itself, if it gets hacked, it can be clean today but infected tomorrow.
remember always, always, always scan files you downloaded with your anti virus before you open and install them, if you just do that one step you should never get a virus. |

I haven't been able to download a single song from that program DST. I think the program is clean, but anything you download from it isn't. A scan of the program with a few anti-virus apps pulls up nothing. Every single song downloaded though, PC Tools in particular quarantines the songs automatically just as they finish downloading. It recognizes every song as 'Trojan-Downloader.FraudLoad!sd6'. Description: Attempts to download malicious files to the local computer and execute them. At first I figured a false positive, because other apps didn't detect it. However, I am very suspicious as every song has the same file size and none of them will play through iTunes, Windows Media Player, Real Player, or VLC.

Hmm, something is weird on my end then. Maybe it is/was a false positive. When I tried to play the song after, it was after I took it out of quarantine from Spyware Doctor. It is possible that the file got corrupted when it was quarantined yeah?
I'm assuming that is the issue, I'll temporarily disable it and re-download and see what happens. I'll let you know the result. |

The original one was just over 4MB. Now that I have temporarily disabled my anti-virus and re-downloaded, a full 5.8MB is showing and the song is playing.
That is so weird, I wonder why Spyware Doctor is acting up.. I just re-enabled it and tried a different song. Payed attention really close and this is what happened. Downloading rather quickly (great speed vs frostwire), and at about 72/75% completion, Spyware Doctor quarantined the file. After un-quarantining it, of course it didn't play. It is corrupted because it didn't get to finish downloading. I can not think of why Spyware Doctor is jumping on these MP3's before they even finish downloading. Well, problem identified. No harm done, just disable it when ever I am ready to download and re-enable when I'm done. |

I always say spysweeper is the best anti spyware, one of the reasons is because it has no false positives. I don't have any of these problems with SS.
