Why I'm Posting:
- Hello, my name is Caleb and I've been surfing forums for a whole year now trying to find the most trustworthy company I could, and I think I've found it ha. The reviews look great, and the Admins are very active in the forums and over the phone it sounds like. The Budget: I have a budget of 2100$ Max, but I could "POSSIBLY" push it to 2200 depending on if I can borrow 100$. Right now I have 1500$, and I do understand that prices for the system build I choose could change at any time. Options: - The Safe Way: 17" MacPro Laptop with a HDD configuration 2500$ - 200$ discount (Don't really like the 2300$ price). DigStorm Way: - I Need help please. 2100$ Budget! Computer Needs: Games: - Starcraft Broodwar (SC2 is about to be released). - Diablo 3 (When it comes out). - WoW (I own it, but doesn't work to well). - I want to try Crisis. Career Plan(s): - I plan on going to school for High End Graphics. - I will be using programs such as 3DMAX, and MAYA. - I will be teaching before I go to college in 2 years. Quick Question(s): - HAF 932 - 950Si - ANTEC 902 - 1050Si - WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN!! - RAID HELP!! 1? 2? 1+2? OMG!! - MORE HDDs?(bet i can get 250$ loan) What I'm looking at (You can recommend other stuff): - Uses i7 920 - 1000 WATT (FUTURE PROOF I THINK....) - THE 1600 DDR3 6GB IS ONLY 81$ MORE (Sounds like a steal). - WHERE DO I GO NEXT! OMG! HELP PLEASE! WRONG FORUM? - AM I MISSING ANYTHING? - DO I HAVE A GOOD POST? |

well we need to know your monitor size so we know what your gpu needs are, however with that budget and thing you requested, to hanle a 1900 x 1200 resolution you are looking at around $2200

Would this just dominate the macpro that I mentioned earlier? And would it be smart to add a 1tb hdd later on?

I mean this is an overclocked desktop, I don't know any laptop that can compete with it.
the larger your HDD the longer and harder it is to scan and manage and backup, but if you have use for 1TB of space then yes go ahead and add it, the haf can take upto 5 HDDs, even more if you convert the 6 optical bays. |

this has 2 GPUs (2 x 275 GTX) in sli they can handle anything you throw at them at 1900 x 1200, and this system has room to grow to Tri sli which then can handle 2560 x 1600

if you have a 17" then one gpu is all you need but if you gonna get a 24" this month or next month then go with the 2 gpus.

Yes, all TN panels are junk, pure junk. So weed out them, that will take 80% of the crap monitors off the list. If you want to further you search, I can help. lol

TN panels are cheap, look like crap, and every time you move your head, the colors, brightness changes.. If you don't see in the spec "TN" panel, then look at the viewing angle, if it is less than 178/178 it is a junk tn panel. |

I plan on playing a few game, but I'm also going to be doing some High-end Graphics in programs such as MAYA and 3DMAX, maybe even Blender. My budget is a little over 2200$ and has been used up with the rig DST4ME has designed for me. I currently have 1500$ so I'll probably have to get a nice little loan just to pay for the rig. After I pay back the loan I'll probably have to work for 1-2 months to buy that monitor.

22" monitors are a great size, I don't like 24's because the resolution is way higher, but the screen is only a bit bigger than the 22's and this makes the text small. 26" monitors usually have the same resolution as 24", but because they are larger in size, it makes the text a great size.
here are some good monitors for the $$ no where near the top, but good values.

They are not special, they are on the very bottom end of non-TN panels. good all around monitors, that are not Tn panel LCDs. lol
