I'm turning 45 this year, and I've been gaming, in one way or another, for over 30 years. However, being a family man I haven't been able to call myself a prime gamer since my kids were little. I don't have any regrets about this but now that my kids are grown and starting their own lives I thought, dammit, I am going to get back into gaming again!
So I just ordered my very first Digital Storm PC. Trying to be a responsible husband I went more budget-minded and ordered an Eclipse Level 4, but I am blown away by what I'm getting for the price and I've been incredibly impressed by Digital Storm and the feedback on these forums.
The question I have is, are there any Eclipse owners out there? I know this is a new SKU for Digital Storm but I've not been able to find many forum posts here, no legitimate YouTube reviews, etc. I'd love to hear from anyone regarding their experience with this beautiful machine. I won't deny that I'm not checking my email every 5 minutes for that "Stage 2" email. Did all of you feel like that, too? I feel like a kid at Christmas. |

Hi MeinSpleen and Welcome to the forums. Congrats on the Eclipse 4.
Excellent gaming in a small package. ![]() I'm a couple of years older than you, or is that decades , and I go back to before the Zork days. Still gaming every day. We'd love to see yourself or others post a review and some pics of the new box. Good Luck and stay in touch. ![]() |

MeinSpleen, I can't assist you much with the Eclipse as my experience is with gaming laptops, but I can say "once a gamer, always a gamer." Whatever you're doing to game, and you said you do in one form or another, you're still a gamer.
But I suppose I'm biased since I'm really nothing more than a glorified "filthy casual." ![]() I still lust for power and beautiful PC graphics though, so I call myself a gamer as well. |

bprat22, I appreciate the kind words. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one in my age demographic pursuing this wonderful hobby of ours. By the way, if you are looking for a little nostalgia, I recommend checking out The Lost Treasures of Infocom, for iOS. You'll have more text adventures than you know what to do with.
I do intend on posting some pics and a review for the Eclipse once I get it and get some games installed! |

Roykirk, I couldn't agree more, having spent may years trying to squeeze in a little gaming here and there as time permitted. Right now I can't wait to get back to stuff I used to love and I'm really excited to play Elite Dangerous and Wolfenstein: The New Order. I'm guessing that both should run just fine on the Eclipse. |
