Hello, I came here awhile back and posted a computer and received several nice responses on how to get a better deal but I ultimately decided to wait for my taxes to come back and for the GTX480 to come out. I primarily will be using this computer for WoW and playing games in 3D (I have a feeling I will be let down because I am getting more excited about checking that out by the day so if anyone has any experience with the NVidia 3d glasses and recommends for or against it any information would be very helpful).

The build I am looking at is this:

Is there anything I should add now that would make it easier to upgrade later on down the road?

I am also worried about the cooling and if the Stage2 air will be sufficient to keep temps down.

*EDIT* Also anyone know of a good computer desk I can order that would fit 2 computers? I am planning on using my current computer for websurfing/vent and various other utilities so that the DS rig will be purely for gaming.

Is there a reason you downgraded to the 920 and the 1tb hard drive?  The setup I built is slightly cheaper with 930 and 1.5tb hard drive.

Here is what they will say:

He also changed the Case from 922 to 932 ($35)
For Processor you get the 920 and pay $27 less to OC to the same results.
HD... I don't know why lets see what he says (bet it was to save money).

no difference what so ever between 920 @ 3.7GHz and 930 @ 3.7GHz.

rule for HDD is

HDD1 = fast drive: os/apps/games

HDD2 = regular large drive: media/personal/work file storage

Don't fill up your HDD1 more then 50%, if think you will need more room for it then pick a bigger one.

In a few month buy a ssd and use that for HDD1 for OS/Games/Apps, and push the 1TB to HDD2 and use it for storage.

to move your os and everything in one shot from the 1TB HDD to the new ssd you can checkout my clone guide.

you can follow my clone guide here

keep in mind how long it takes to defrag/scan/search/backup/manage a 1.5TB HDD, you don't need that much room, all you need is the 1TB HDD, its only gonna be for file storage anyways.

I see, I assumed that by getting the 930 it would OC higher than the 920.

I also planned on getting a SSD later so thank you much for the clone guide.

I now have 5 questions:

1. Is there a flaw in the case I picked? I prefer the looks of the 922  to the 932 but if it is too small or has issues with temps then I would definitely choose the 932.

2. What will be the difference between windows7 home/professional/ultimate? I see where you upgraded it to professional and was wondering what benefits it brings.

3. Would you recommend that mobo or should I upgrade it to a different one?

4. Should I use my current monitor and get the SSD now and the NVIDIA glasses/samsung monitor later when there are more 3d games to choose from?

5. Should I get the dedicated PhysX card for the 3d glasses or will the GTX480 handle it by itself?

Thank you both for the advice and info by the way. I plan to order today or tomorrow as soon as I find out the answers to those 5 questions.

1. 922 is a midtower, 932 is a full tower, for the 480 and future upgrades you want room, the 932 gives it to you.

2. win7 pro has xp mode that allows you to run apps that may not run in win7 in xp mode, there are other minor differences, you can check them out here.

3. I think the mobo you have is fine.

4. this one is upto you, I can't really say. but waiting will have better options and prices probably.

5. not sure about this one, I know the 480 does 2.5 times the physx than the 285, but I'm not sure about specifics on 3D and physx.
