Topic: How do I buy individual parts/upgrades from DS Posted: 24 Feb 2018 at 7:18pm |
I went to the site http://www.digitalstorm.com/components.asp and when I select the component it directs me to the page where I have to choose between the desktop, workstation, all in one, or community. The rep told me I could get another SSD from them. Just sent the response about an hour ago, but does anyone have an idea what I can do?

I checked it out myself and it seems to do the same thing to me (redirects me to home page). The only thing I can recommend is to stay in touch with the rep and let them know you can't access the purchase page.

I noticed this awhile back. I think it happened when they removed the "Components" page from the top-site drop down menu.
Perhaps someone from DS will see this and offer some input. |

Yeah, I haven’t seen the components/parts page in months. I just figured they weren’t dealing with selling individual parts anymore, without a call to them.
Let us know what you hear. I was curious but not enough to email them. |

I don't see the Components page anymore also.
Under the Warranty terms any part you install (or they install) to upgrade (gpu, storage and memory comes to mind) will not be covered by the original warranty since that covers only the initial purchase and its parts. That is my reading. So it appears that it takes time away from regular work (and we know how much it has) to process parts orders. (I would say that that portion of their business did not merit being open for the revenue provided. Again, strictly my guess) ! So, I would venture to say, no more parts sales. You can get all you want on Amazon or Newegg or any other pc parts store for cheaper anyway and install yourself. It was not covered by the Warranty anyway. (Again, my IMHO ) Edited by hoserator - 25 Feb 2018 at 4:00am |
