Hi all I am in desperate need of help. How and I supposed to clean the front of my computer. To my knowledge I can’t take the front off. There is a lot of dust under this area and I would love to have it fixed. I don’t want to go in there without knowing what I’m doing lol. The area I am talking about is literally the face of the desktop.

You need to expose both sides of the front panel by taking the side panel off, then pop 3 or 4 clips on each side to free the front panel and expose the fans. The clips are in the holes i believe. Pc is off of course (disconnected).
The psu has a pull out filter i believe. Edited by DST4ME - 05 Dec 2017 at 1:15am |

Oh I see it. Is it easy to put back together? I also thought I could only take off one side of the computer.

Check out this guide written awhile ago about the cleaning the Vanquish...
Here.... Remember the top clips on the Corsair case are a bit tricky. Once you get used to them, you'll find getting in there easier and easier. My Vanquish is almost 4 years old (ohmygodalready?!?!) and I still take it apart to clean it monthly, inside and out. Keep that baby clean and updated and it will last you a good long while. Cheers! |

Thanks man I’ll check it out. Yeah I’ve had it for a year without really properly cleaning it. It’s not that bad really but the front of it is and it can’t be good lol

The bottom 4 are easy... the top 2 will drive you batty the first time you try to unlock them. Be careful that you're not hung up on the optical drive. Remove the bottom 4 first to get a feel for how they're supposed to work. And if you're cleaning, do not forget the PSU filter underneath!! |

You're right, it's not good. That baby needs to breathe and if the fans are choked off with dust it'll get too warm. Keeping the filters clear is one of the easiest ways to extend the life of your machine. |

Hints:
> Be grounded. Every time you get in a computer you have to have all static electricity removed. Don't work on it if you're running around in a carpeted room in your socks. > Firm and deliberate pressure on the hooks and tabs. Don't go all HULKSMASH on the tabs. Practice on the bottom four and then the top two as mentioned above. Don't yank the cover as it sometimes gets hooked on the power buttons or optical drive. Firm deliberate force beats gorilla yanking. > Water. You can run the front filter and PSU filters under water to remove the dust buildup as long as you make CERTAIN they are dried completely before reinstalling them. Both filters pull air directly into the fans and you really don't want them pulling water through. > Inside. Now, while you have the covers off, is a great time to clean the inside, too. If you have canned air a quick blast here and there, CPU fan, GPU card fans, will do some good. Some here (me included) do not let the forced air spin the fan blades. Hold the blade steady while cleaning. Also, some of us have invested in a Datavac blower to clear the dust and debris out. Others, like bprat who have do not need the Datavac, do very well with simple canned air. > Personally, I take "cleaning day" for the computer to clean it electronically as well. Run Malwarebytes, CCleaner and a few other scans as well to make certain that I can use a trouble free machine. Hope any of these help. If you need anything just let us know and we'll be more than happy to chime in with our opinions. |

$70.USD Arkansaswoman777 turned us on to them a couple years ago. mine has already paid for itself because I would go through 2 cans of air a month. If you're not using it that often then the canned air would be a better financial decision.
