Topic: Memory upgrade Posted: 13 Jan 2016 at 3:23pm |
I would like to add an additional 8 gig of memory to my Vanguish 4. My question is when I look up the the type of memory from ADATA, they do not show a model of DDR4 2666mhz memory that is in my pc. I can find the same timings but not the same mhz. If I add the 2133mhz, will it clock up to my original 8 gig. or should I get the 2888mhz and let it slow down to the 2666? I'm confused alittle here. Any help sure would be appreciated. Vanquish 4 Level 3 i5 66ooK 8 gig 2666 mhz memory GTX 970 256ssd 1tb hd 750ps |

I just removed my memory and got the part number. Can I purchased more memory from DS? I looked in the store but this type was not available.

DS will sell you memory. What's the part number?
Not sure if their memory has XMP. If so, it's probably 2133 with a 2666 profile set in Bios. DS could tell you. |

AX4U2800W4G17-BRZ I would like to buy two 4 gig modules to give me a total of 16 gig. According to ADATA website this is listed as 2800 mhz with 17-17-17 timings. When I run CPU-Z, it states that mt timings are 15-15-15. I really would like to match the modules together as to get the best results.

Until you get in touch with DS, go into Bios and click on XMP profile. Could be on the EZ home screen or under AI Tweaker. If that ram uses XMP you might see that the timing changes with the frequency selected in different profiles. That ram is 2800, meaning that is what it's tested to, but DS might've set it to 2666 for more stability, especially with a CPU overclock which does affect it.

You hit it on the head. Memory set to 2666. Now I just need to get the part numbers I listed to go with what I got. Sent an e-mail to sales. Hoping to get a reply soon.

Got a hold of sales this am with no problem. All I had to do was give my name and they were able to pull up the correct memory on my system. Good to go.

Nice.
Just for reference, when you checked in Bios, were there a couple of XMP profiles to pick from? Or just the 2666 mhz? |
