Hi Vx_Grim..... Here's an alternate build that will save you $600 without sacrficing anything.

Config # 1438582.    Cost $ 3074

Changed the 6850k to the 6800k. Only real difference is the number of Pcie lanes from CPU to graphics cards, 28 vs 40.   For a single even sli, the 6800 k is all you need.

Dropped to 16gb ram.. All you need for gaming.   Productivity would use more.

Dropped the psu to a 850 watt. Unless you plan on sli, the 850 is plenty.

Changed to the Western Digital Black HDD. More reliable with longer warranty.

For a 1080 p monitor the gtx 1070 will max everything out there.   The gtx 1080 would be for 1440p or above.

Hope this helps.

@Vx_Grim normally you get the monitor or know what monitor you want then we config a pc to max that monitor but if you are sure you gonna be at 1080p monitor then that pretty much is the same thing.

Now first thing you want to do with a monitor is ignore contrast ratio and response time as they are pure BS numbers there to full the consumer, they are not even comparable from one monitor to another.

What you want to look for first is the panel, you want an IPS panel for its superior image quality over TN. refresh rate, color depth, Display Colors, what dp and hdmi versions does it support, these are the ones you want to pay attention to.
