My only issue is the mobo not supporting Sli, but for my needs, does the 670 run bf3 on high ultra with my resolution ?

Here's what the gtx 670 will give you for gaming.
The only better card is the gtx680 and it is about 5-10% better only for alot more $$. You can use that link to plug in and compare the different cards. For High Ultra you will see frames drop into the 50's or lower on some of the outside maps where rendering is high. Just a few tweeks of in-game settings will give great game play. But if you want Ultra and always 60fps or better then a sli might be needed. A Sabertooth mobo for sli and the sli, gtx670 would be above your budget. The ODE lvle 4 for $2499 is about the best bang for the buck. Edit... If you added the Sabertooth mobo and sli gtx670 to above config and went with a less expensive case like the 500R then it would be under $2100 just as an example. Would the less $$ case be a bad option?
would a gtx 680 be better than 670's in sli ? Edited by LethalVector - 08 Dec 2012 at 9:26am |

The 500R case is a real nice case with very good cooling. Its side panel 200mm fan will blow fesh air directly on the mobo and graphic cards.
A sli, 2x gtx 670 is far better than a single gtx 680, almost double the fps in some of the more intense games . A single 680 or 670 is great gaming, unless you want maxed out settings and play Metro2033, Crysis warhead, etc. Even BF3 will struggle a bit on those settings with single card. The extra card for your size monitor is mainly for the extra several fps you want if the 60fps is important to you in BF3. To me, 50fps is real nice. Sli does give you more longevity looking down the road as games get more graphic intense. Some games recently like GW2 I believe, do have an issue with sli, but that can be disabled if needed. You can use that link I posted above to check 670 vs 680 and what fps for a variety of games. Edited by bprat22 - 08 Dec 2012 at 9:40am |

Well, you said the ode is the sweet spot for perform/price. so I will stick with that. i can get 50-60 frames on high that's good enough for me.

I just wanted to chip in here, I'm a little late as usual.
Don't be too wrapped up on ultra settings. I've seen these ODE kick some serious digital aft parts. :D They really do bring out the game. |

I'm having doubts on the Ode's mobo. Seems like it is restricting the upgrades down the road.
Also, do the odes ship faster because they are pre-configured? Edited by LethalVector - 11 Dec 2012 at 12:27pm |

Generally, from what I've observed on the forums yes.
However, remember that the ODEs are very popular because quite frankly, they are awesome. So you would need to talk to Digital Storm directly about that. Regards. Xii |

The lx mobo will restrict sli in the future, but usually if you don't sli now or in few months you won't. Future video cards will get better also. But, the Sabertooth mobo is a real nice board with 5 year warranty as opposed to 3 years for most others. You could take my second config and add the Sabertooth and go from there. But above your stated budget.
Tough decisions. |

In my custom build in my first post, I would drop in the Z77 Sabertooth and sli the gtx670. A single 670 will play most games with that monitor on max but some shooters would need sli if max settings and 60 fps minimum are what you want.
You could also try a single 670 and get a SSD for faster boot times and rendering in some games with larger HDD for second drive. Lots of ways to go. |

Agreed -- you can do a lot more at Digital Storm with 2k than other places.

Not to go off topic, but I'm now shopping for a mouse/keyboard and speakers. looking to get cheap $20-$30 no frills speakers and get higher quality mouse/boards. I do both mmo/moba type games as well as well as fps. any suggestions?

This is the best mouse I've ever owned. Worth every penny.
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/performance-mouse-mx?crid=7 I'm not a big (cheap) speaker guy. I don't mean that offensively -- I just do a lot of stuff with sound so I have really good audio stuff. My keyboard is the G510: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/gaming-keyboard-g510?crid=26 It has a very good feel, has a good layout, isn't super loud and you can change the app/colors on it with easy. It supports older applications (like ventrilo) and new games, like Borderlands 2. I lot of people will bring up Razer products but personally, I've had nothing but trouble from them, from shipping to actual product function. Moreover, a lot of their keyboards are just logitech keyboards visually in my opinion. At any rate, this combo is great for me and I play the same kind of games you do. Regards, Xii |

A lot of reviews are knocking the keyboard pretty badly.
