Budget:
2,500 Expectations: Gaming Rug for latest games that will last me for at least a few years. Usage: 99% gaming, Some Photoshop work, possibly some CAD but most of that is done on another workstation. Special Needs: Would like the i7 8700k, GTX 1080 Ti and at least 16gb RAM If possible with my budget. Getting a monitor for this new machine with Gsnyc, looking at Dell Gaming S2716DG 27.0" Screen LED-Lit Monitor with G-SYNC 27", QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) Any input you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! -nikemand |

Config:1792161 (Enter code in "Load Config", which is located in the upper right part of website)
Here’s a good place to start. Just a few key points from my limited knowledge: I selected the Corsair H115i for you because of its cooling power. Just realize that there is always a risk when you use this type of cooling component (e.g. leaking). Next, I selected the Vanquish case to reduce the price. Finally, I understand you want the gtx 1080ti, but it ends up over your budget, at least the way I configured all the parts. If you are fine with the gtx 1080, your price is now slightly over your budget. But, I would like someone else to confirm whether the gtx 1080 is compatible with g-sync. If someone can check the components I selected I’d appreciate it. Just giving nikemand a little headstart. Hope this helps. |

Almost forgot. I did not include a fan control system. But from what I've heard on this forum, you can ask Digital Storm to connect the fans to the mobo so you can directly control the fans yourself. Not entirely sure as to how this works and what software you might need.

Don't forget the advanced LED internal lighting is available free on the Holiday Sale. I'm thinking that'd look pretty nice with either case pick as the internals are so exposed, if you dig on that sorta thing.

Thank you all very much for your input! Very much appreciated. I do not mind going a little over budget to get the gaming machine that I want and I really like the config you show DST4ME. Probably what I'd want to go with! Again, thank you all for taking your time to help me out!

Great build DST! But since there is no fan control system, should he ask Digital Storm to hook the fans to the mobo? Also, just for learning's sake, do you need any software to control them afterwards? Edited by Batman34 - 05 Dec 2017 at 6:58am |

Case fans can't be controlled, extra fans can.
Depending on mobo's software you can control controllable fans if connected to the mobo, or in the bios, there are other software that can control those fans also, or it can be hardware, but that requires connections to that hardware |
