Welcome to the forum xBeardedOnex !
DS is dealing with a backlog of holiday orders, and I noted that this week they are being a bit more honest with customers by adding a business week to the build estimates on all rigs...now 20-25 business days estimated time. That’s likely what you may be looking at time wise now. They are trying to catch up without cutting corners. If it goes much longer without progress, you can email [email protected] to ask them about it. Your Lumos build looks no nonsense solid! Well regarded MSI mobo and excellent Stage 1 overclocked i7-8700k cpu, dependable 240 mm Vortex sealed cpu cooler. 16 gb RAM is all you need for gaming. You can get by with the 250 gb m.2 drive but most here probably would have suggested at least a 500 gb C drive. That GTX 1070 Ti video card should play most games at fairly high settings for some time, but we don’t usually recommend over clocking the video card as it doesn’t gain you much performance compared with wear and tear on the card from over clocking. I’m sure you realize the GTX 1070 is one generation back of the current RTX 2000 series cards, so it may not play some of the newest titles at high settings. I myself am waiting on a December Lumos build that’s running late. I have ordered 3 other DS rigs since 2011, and they all are still very solid workhorses that never fail to impress people. Despite the extended wait times right now for DS rigs, I really don’t think there is a better builder of custom gaming pc’s out there. Hang in there and DS should build you a rock solid, well tested gaming rig. Edited by HockeyBuck - 10 Jan 2019 at 2:22am |

Congrats on your new build.
Since you already ordered it I won’t critique the build. It’s an excellent config. As far as what to expect for build time......who knows, DS is way behind in build times so your guess is as good as mine. Stage 1 is normally about 2 days. Patience is the word. |

As for build time, I’d expect to revive your pc in feb. I ordered a vanquish level 4 mid December and I’m still in stage 1 and haven’t had any response from multiple emails. The vanquish wasn’t a custom build either so yours could be even a bit longer. All we can do is wait

I’m not sure the Vanquish is even considered a prebuilt anymore. It has no options but that’s for cost saving, DS able to use whatever mobo, gpu, etc is can get the best deals on and pass it along.
Even if it is a prebuilt, I’m sure any prebuilt inventory evaporated long ago. |

Thank you all for the replies. Alex got back with me today to let me know it should reach stage 5 by the week's end. Not sure if that's by tomorrow, or next week's end, but either way I'm pleased with the prompt response.
I will eventually be upgrading the graphics card within a couple of years and most definitely the power supply along with SSD. Any recommendations? You guys are my source now since I'm part of the community. I will likely come to you all for advice on most things I look into. Never hurts to ask. 🤘 Also, with my current set up that I ordered, do you think I'll be able to run Black Ops 4 on high settings, or does that particular title require more oomph so to speak? Just a little update, my order has shipped and is on its way! I placed the order on Jan 2nd, processed the 3rd, and shipped the 14th (today). I don't know if this will help those of you who are nervous about ordering due to the backlog, but here's my personal experience.
The build I ordered is also above ^^^ just in case |

I find it really strange how some of these orders are flying out the door while others are taking an eternity. I ordered a Vanquish level 4 in early December. I havent seen any progress made on it in weeks. Was told multiple times it was going to ship and it never did. This has been an awful experience. I hope shipping is good to you and it comes quickly and without damages. |

Ive noticed the same thing, it is really strange. once mine got out of stage one it was shipped in less than a week. for some people it has been much longer. but then again things happen

Mine was in stage 1 for about 2.5 weeks. In under 24 hours my PC went from stage 1 to stage 6 and it's been crickets since. Makes me think they are just pushing orders up to make it seem like more progress is being done than it actually is. I've literally been in stage 6 longer than OPs entire order and his has been shipped already. This whole ordeal has been such a headache. |

UPDATE: My PC will arrive today! If I'm able to post pics I will. Hopefully some of you have gotten updates on your PC's by now. I've read a few posts of some people being 10+days and still showing stage 1.
Cheers 🍻 |

This is infuriating... My order has been sitting in stage 1 longer than this entire order. I mean I'm happy you got your system but seriously this is unheard of a custom PC (which should have taken longer) gets sent out before people who select the "prebuilt" noncustomized version. All the while us stuck waiting in level 1 keep getting LIED TO! I placed my order the same day as OP and others much earlier... BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES.

The only way this comment would be valid is if you've ordered the same machine with the same specs at the same time. Alex has stated that there are some backlogs in the components as well as orders. Perhaps your machine is waiting for something that is back-ordered. To use a automobile analogy, having all the parts in house to build the Corvette Z06 would make building it faster than the Malibu waiting for seats. You can't compare the two build times. Some parts are the same, yes, but some are not. Even the "Pre-built" systems are being built by hand now that they've run through the warehouse stock. This has been a very busy time at DS for the reasons Alex has posted on these forums. Or, secondarily, the machine may be hung in stress testing phase. This phase is unique between each machine. Some take hours, some take days. Honestly, I understand being irritated at not receiving your product when you were expecting it, and you have that right. But you need to compare apples to apples when you say another machine is ready before yours. Question: have you contacted Alex directly? He is the manager of "Getting things done" and has posted here on the forums his email address for anyone with any concerns about their orders. He will give you the answer that you seek. [email protected] Cheers. |

Like Snaike said, if you haven't tried contacting Alex yet, you definitely should. I stayed in contact with him over the course of my build. He responds very quickly and will let you know what's going on. They may be slow due to unforeseen circumstances, but their customer service is amazing as far as I'm concerned. Don't hesitate to message them. 👍 |

I have contacted Alex and Management... Over a week ago and not even a response from either. I'm sorry I'm upset but I have asked and asked, I just get fed the company "we are busy" line and stress testing?? My order is in stage 1, what stress are they testing? Mine? The customer service when I have tried calling is also very rude, only a girl named Alice iirc was polite and then when her "GUARANTEE" came due I called in to be told "idk what idiot told you that". So yeah...
I get your analogy Snaike but they are not even saying, X part is back ordered. Which is a good business practice to keep consumers informed. Giving a "We had 2 influencers make videos and a new cpu you aren't getting anyways came out" line. As for RTX 2070s they are not sold out anywhere I have seen. So again sorry for me being upset but that is hard to swallow. My experience so far with this company has not been good, the forums yes, everything else no. Thanks 😁 Hopefully you hear word on yours before too long. I'm glad I got my PC finally, but I do feel bad knowing I ordered mine around the same time as many of the people and got it while others still wait for the updates. |

Nice picture of the new rig! Congrats! Can I ask a question? I am considering a Lumos configuration with a Corsair CPU cooler. You did not order case fan upgrades. How are your case fans organized? How many total do you have? I normally go all air cooling so this is my first time into liquid cooling. I want to make sure the Lumos comes with sufficient fans without an upgrade.

So far all I've loaded on it is Battlefield V, Black Ops 4 and Fortnite. I like to play mainly first person shooters, but I also just got a steam account and origin account so I'll likely be downloading many more games 😁 Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey will definitely be downloaded tonight when I get off of work as well. I play both of those on Xbox one x and they're amazing, so I'd like to get em on pc. Because why the hell not lol. That being said, this is my first PC, so I'm open for recommendations for games if you have any. Also, I definitely recommend a curved monitor. It's one thing to see them sitting on a desk looking all clean and whatnot, but it's a whole nother experience when playing games or browsing the internet. It opens up a whole new level for me on Fortnite and Black ops 4. Loving it. Also with the windows 10 split screen, it's badass to have. |

Warning on Odyssey, it is very tough to run. You will be lucky to hit 70fps. You would probably like siege, PUBG is great on PC. I play a lot of everything, lots of MMOs. If you like fortnite 🤮 check out Spellbreak. It is currently in invite only alpha but very fun.
I'm looking forward to testing Black Desert Online with my new rig once it gets here Edited by Psyoshi - 23 Jan 2019 at 9:55am |

I'm pretty positive that I have One fan on the back and three in the front. I did get the stage two liquid cooling, so I don't know if the two extra fans on the front are just radiator fans or not lol. I'm new to this But I can say that with an overclocked i7-8700k cpu(4.7ghz) and 1070ti gpu, It runs super cool. Stays around 43 to 50 Celsius under normal conditions and i'll say "moderate" game play. I played Battlefield V last night for about 4 hours and the CPU was about 76 Celsius, so i'd say the liquid cooling does what it's supposed to and does it well. Also the case is a Corsair Crystal 570X I believe. |

For the record, I don't particularly care for Fortnite. I just use it as an excuse to play games with my nephew since he's extremely into it lol. As for odyssey, I'm sure 70fps should be enough. I know my graphics card isn't king, but if it'll give me at least 70fps-80fps on most of the new titles I play, I'm good with that. |

Yeah you should get that depending in resolution but Odyssey just tanks on frames from what I have seen on benchmarks, even with higher end and rtx cards. It was built with AMD graphics in mind. Which is why Xbox and PS4 handle it as well as they do. They both use AMD GPU and CPU.
