As an over the hill, grizzled gamer, I have no doubt that children today would rather be on their cell phone than listen to an educational lecture. I also have no doubt that children would rather play games than do work. Being the observant persion that I am, I could not help but notice how few high school students take calculus while in high school. They would much prefer to have an off-period their senior year to run errands for the school office. So I thought, why not come up with a video game that teaches calculus! With that said and since I am over the hill and grizzled, with no money to speak of. Therefore, I strong-armed my colleagues at Texas A&M University and we came up with a game to teach Calculus. I can now announce that Variant: LImits is available for purchase, and to learn calculus in a video game setting. I shall end my declaration with one of my favorite quotes, from my favorite book: "Why, I've sometimes believed six impossible things before breakfast."

Very impressive presentation I must say! I have been under the impression that high-schoolers looking for advanced placement credit often took calculus, but I stand corrected. This truly seems to be an excellent opportunity to enhance a lot of educations in a captivating way. Kudos, and I hope it takes off big-time!

What happened? The first post was a bit off but now that it's gone, the title makes no sense. |

It's odd that it gave forrest thread ownership too. Ah well, such are the magical lands of the internet. |
