I saw it somewhere in the configs, one of the latter option was for DS to uninstall /take out "useless" little programs in the msconfig or something like that.
It was free Now i don't see it anymore. DO you know what i am looking for? lol sorry for being confusing... |

I believe what you are looking for is under the 'OS Boost' section. If you click on that, you'll see a free option for "FREE: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system".

Well, I am certainly not the person to know...however sneaky George W posted the following in my config (pertaining the OS boost & the vid car overclocking): "one other thing ive heard is that you dont gain hardly anything but potential problems from overclocking (OC) the graphics cards. DS doesnt do a heavy OC on the cards so you wont see much benefit but it just adds one more thing that can go wrong; dont fix it if it aint broke you know? (the overclock on the CPU is great btw). same with windows 7. in the past it was good to tweak windows but 7 is much leaner and tweaking sees less gains and more potential problems" I think that is the answer to your question. **edit -- typo Edited by CArnold40 - 10 Nov 2011 at 1:08am |

the os boost makes zero difference in apps and game speeds, it wont make a difference in the os either, specially with ssd.
what george meant to say is that in the past it was good to disable stuff for XP cause we had only 1GB of ram in those days and we needed to free up resources, now in days with 6/8GB of ram and ssd, the os boost does nothing. Edited by DST4ME - 10 Nov 2011 at 1:54am |

They both are basically the same memory, same timings, etc... It's more of a brand preference to be honest. Plus, you can work with Corsair directly too for warranty replacements (life-time warranty). |

Ram is really the same, but I think the default ram at DS right now is corsair, but even if it was not, they don't matter much, as Alex said its more preference, performance is the same.
