Appreciate all the help in advance. I shifted to Digital Storm a few years back, primarily because of the configuration support from the public on these forums. Amazing group of people.
Budget: 2k-2.3k Expectations: Powerful, reliable and easy to upgrade graphics card in 2-3 years (or as required). I don't need to play on the highest settings, but will if the rig supports it. I prefer powerful stability and performance to bleeding edge gains that require tweaking/maintenance to make things work. I don't have all the time in the world, would prefer to spend it gaming, not tweaking / fixing minor issues. Usage: Gaming. Almost all types of games from FPS -> MMO w/ strategy mixed in (Civ, Total War, SCII, etc). Special Needs: None Saved Ticket #: Don't have one.... Specifications: - Space I will use it in sits between 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. - I like the boot speeds on SSDs, so if we can fit that in w/ a back-up larger HD, that would be great. Not a necessity though. - If the below monitor is holding me back, would appreciate advice there as well: Samsung B2330 Inputs: Single PC (D-sub 15 Pin) Screen Size: 23" Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Brightness: 300 Static Contrast Ratio: 1,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 70,000:1 Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical): 170°/160° (C>10) Response Time: 5 Color Support: 16.7 Million Thanks! Hi POW!..... Here's a build that gives you all you need and stays on budget.
I swapped the default power supply, drives and gtx 1070 for better quality with longer warranties in most cases. This will game at max settings on a 1920x1080 monitor, the gtx 1070 being a strong choice. Configuration Code: 1559211 Total Price with Instant Savings: $2,323.00 Direct Load URL: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1559211 Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm Apollo (White) Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 6700K 4.0GHz (Codename Skylake) (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS Z170-PRO GAMING (Intel Z170 Chipset) (Up to 5x PCI-E Devices) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 750W EVGA SuperNOVA <br><strong></strong> Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) (Internal) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (500GB Samsung 850 EVO) <br><strong></strong> Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (1TB Western Digital - Black Edition) <br><strong></strong> Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce GTX 1070 8GB (EVGA ACX 3.0) (VR Ready) <br><strong></strong> Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H115i - 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance) <br><strong></strong> HydroLux Tubing Style: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected HydroLux Fluid Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled LED Lighting System (Multiple color options and lighting effects) <br><strong></strong> Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.4GHz (Depends on Cooling and Motherboard) <br><strong></strong> Boost Graphics Card(s): - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Factory Reset Feature (Restore Windows + Drivers) (Partition up to 50GB of Storage) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 15-20 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) Hope this helps. You could go with the Vanquish level 3 and get the same gaming performance, and save a few hundred bucks, but the Apollo build is tweaked for better components. Nothing wrong with the default parts in Vanquish level 3, but the others would be my pick if the budget allows. |

Had a minor setback, but I'm ready to move forwards once again. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my wife will be needing a new CPU as well. I can move my budget up a little past 3k (but can't go to 4,600 for two copies of the build above), but I need two rigs now...not just one. All the other information still applies.
Thoughts? Advice? |

Order two Vanquish 5 Best, level 2, builds. Their $1379 a piece before shipping cost.
That build won't have the gtx 1070, but the gtx 1060 is still a good choice for a 1080p monitor, especially the games you mentioned. It won't max out some of the more demanding games, but High settings are still good gaming. Good Luck. |

Thanks for the quick response. I may mix it up and get the one you recommended plus a Vanquish 5, or maybe I'll wait a couple months and get two of your originally recommended versions. We'll see how patient I can be. Either way, really appreciate the support. Looking forward to DS rigs number 3 and 4.
