I am so tired everytime I want to place my order something else developes.

I am needing advice for my build regarding SSD drive for the operating system.

DS offers Corsair and Intel in 40 and 80 Gig. My question is which brand is the better performer for Windows 7

Also do you think the 40 Gig SSD of your recommended brand is big enough for windows to maintain itself? I hear that when these drives start to fill up they slow down. So my thinking is 80 Gig would be better, but if not I'd rather save the money if the 40 Gig will do.

Thank you all so much.

I'm not sure about what brand is better, but if you're just loading Win7 on your SSD then the 40GB is the right choice, the 80GB would just be overkill if you're only loading your OS onto it.

Go with the Intel no doubt.  40GB is fine for Win7 and w/ TRIM you are good to go.  If you want to load games, apps, etc on your SSD then consider upping capacity.

Corsair's F series has the SandForce controller, which is just as fast if not slightly faster than the Intel.

Not once DuraWrite kicks in, and/or on non highly compressible data.
