So, about two weeks after my system supposedly passed Stage 2 Inventory (where presumably they pulled all the items needed to build my system), I'm told that they are out of stock of the Thermal Management & Software Control Board and don't expect them in stock for another 3 weeks. The DS rep asked if I wanted to just go without the thermal control board.

The system I ordered: 1444534

My question is, is the Hydrolux controller worth waiting 3 weeks for? My current system has heat issues, so I wanted to make sure that the new system does not. That's why I went with the full water cooling. Is the lack of the hydrolux controller going to affect that?

Thanks

P.S. Is it normal that a system can pass the inventory stage without actually having the inventory?

Only you can answer that.

If it were me (and it will be sometime soon) I would wait. That piece seems to tie into the whole custom cooling setup and I would want it to be in there.

Obviosly not all parts of your system were checked off, so that is strange.

I personally wouldn't use the thermal/fan control board. Between the Bios and the mobo FanXpert and other fan control programs, the DS option is nice but not necessary. Sometimes it's just something else that can go wrong.

Up to you of course, but it certainly isn't necessary.

Same thing happened over here. Seems like there was a disconnect between the inventory and the options during configuration. I suppose having a large number of orders in a relatively short time will do that.

I opted to go forward without the control board, with the timing being the more critical issue for me. I also figured that if it became something that I really wanted to add on at a later date, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to get it installed.

As bp mentioned you can always connect the fans to mobo to control if needed or you can always get your own controller.
