Budget: around 2, 500 - 3 K
Expectations: Same as my other DS rigs built last 2007, 2011 (specs suggested by the DS community)- reliability and longevity, ability to add upgrades to lengthen service life Usage: 4 K and VR games, watching Bluray movies, Office stuff, File storage - media, documents Any suggested builds? Aiming for the 1080Ti , then when prices drop later, SLI it Other Questions - Advantage of having a Thunderbolt capable MOBO? The DS chassis for sale do not allow for any installed optical drives - would need a Bluray enabled drive Besides the Volta GPU any other new hardware stuff worth waiting for early next year? Or this is a good season to purchase due to the sales? Any ideas to clone a drive to transplant to the new PC? |

Its best to config wgen you are ready to buy.
If you wait new stuff cost the most and in a few months become old. Thunderbolt allows high speed external connections or daisy chain connections. You can always get an external bd driv. If i understand you want to move yiur drive from current pc to new one, what is current os? |

In the configurators there is a case available you can choose called the Coridium that still has two optical drive slots. I ordered it. DS used to build a $7000 ultra comp in this case, so i'm thinking its pretty good.... Not too expensive either.
Turns out it's a Corsair Obsidian 450D. Edited by Cretae - 16 Dec 2017 at 7:38am |
