Placed order last night. So just in stage one. Looking forward to having my first new system in almost ten years.
Use will be for games, personal business and research, and since I have developed an interest in AI will be getting back into some programming and learning AI . This system should easily handle that. Main reason for choosing prebuilt - customer service. Why Didgital Storm- I am expecting very good customer service if there are any build issues. I Now to look for a new game or two. |

Cheers and welcome to the DS Family.
Tell us, because we're nosy, what did you order and can we expect pictures of your new machine in its new home? |

Received the computer and monitor today. UPS messed up, the driver couldn't find the monitor when he delivered the computer but he came back out around 9pm EST with the monitor and apologized. He said it was stacked with another order and he misread the label but found it before he finished the deliveries and came back to the house to drop it off.
First comments: 1. Great packaging. Very secure and I did normal ground deliver. 2. Got order 2 days sooner than expected. 3. Everything worked out of the box after I read the 'don't use this HDMI port, Use this other one '. 4. Annoying to have to set up windows and change default save location for everything from the C: SSD drive to the regular hard drive. I understand DS left the defaults because they don't know how a customer might want to customized the system. 5. Only had time to install Skyrim from my steam account, but first time I've every see it run on highest resolution without my system overheating. 6. The video card was upgraded from a GeForce 1070 to a GeForce 2070 by MSI. 7. I like the looks of the PC itself. First time for me to have a PC instead of laptop in many many years. Tomorrow I might have time to further dive in and customize, and am looking for a new game and I want to get some tools installed to better monitor the system before I purchase one or two newer games that should tax the graphics card way more than Skyrim. Overall first impressions are very very positive and I feel like I received very good value for the money. Will post pictures when I have some more time. Thanks DS. |

One problem I have had so far but it was with Windows 10.
After installing a few things, I put the computer in sleep mode and a few days later when I used the computer again, i had an error message that I hadn't seen before(don't remember the message). After using system and shutting down, the next day, it wouldn't boot. After much frustration and looking up a few error messages, I discovered that the bootres.dll file was pegged as corrupted. After trying everything all the found articles said try, I had to resort to the very last option all the articles said.. 'Reinstall windows 10'. Bummer.. luckily, i hadn't installed much at this point. Used recovery USB drive to finally get windows 10 reinstalled 4 days ago. I have not had a single problem since, but I also haven't left the system in sleep mode for more than a few hours since. Happy gaming everyone and a happy new year !!! |

I don't have personal experience because I have heeded the advice I've seen posted right here on these forums: DON'T USE sleep mode with Windows 10. You have personal experience how it can inexplicably cause random problems.
It is fortunate that you hadn't gotten very far along with your configuring everything. Even so, I empathize with your mishap because those are the kind of things that annoy me the most. I hate the time wasted! I make sure my monitor is set to sleep after 15 minutes, but the computer is set to sleep "never". I figure that the GPU is idle with nothing to render since the monitor is off; the CPU is idle with nothing to compute; and the system drive is an M.2 SSD that is idle and uses very little power anyway. It may not be the ideal power-saving mode, but in 11 months I have no issues. I've no idea what's with Win 10. I used sleep mode in Win 7 for over 7 years leaving my system on almost all the time and never had a problem. Go figure. |

I never use sleep or hibernate. Power the machine off when I am finished. every. time. The problems with using sleep now are worse than the problems they were designed to mitigate (burn-in, etc).
Again, this is just me.. but never use sleep/hibernate. |

I had forgotten about not using sleep mode on windows 10. But when a 5 year old granddaughter comes and says grandpa play with us, the computer gets left :) I have changed my 'sleep' setting to never !!! |
