Just ordered a Vanquish - hoping it comes with the Asus Z170-K mobo and not the Gigabyte. Anyone have any ideas?

Also wondering what brand power supply, Geforce GTX 970, memory, SSD, HD, CPU fan, .... oh God, everything is up in the air. I guess that's why the price was so good.

I'm scared.

I can't speak to the New Vanquish, but the Vanquish 2, level 4 I picked up a couple years ago had a PNY GPU... but then again, there was no configuration options back then, either.. Honestly couldn't tell you any other brand that they put in other than the micro H81-E Asus mobo.. seems my memory is going...

(yea, I'm old, get off my lawn! )

Haha! I'm more just anxious. Just hoping I get the "better" choices. I'll let ya know when I found out! It seems I'm stuck on stage 1.

Hi lucKykev,

Digital Storm buys a number of components at one time to get the best price for the Vanquish. Even though they may buy a less preferred brand they are still good performing components. Snaike's PNY GPU is a good example. Many people don't like PNY but they are still good and functional units. Digital Storm wouldn't use them if they were going to cause problems with warranty claims.   I don't know Digital Storms hierarchy but I can guarantee you there are bean counters looking for ways to build quality computers at a savings. Using inferior components is bad for business and bad for the bottom line. With Digital Storms full custom builds you won't find anything but premium components.
