Interesting question, but I suppose this is a "General Discussion" after all. Big%20Smile

I'd start by reading this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Katrina

It answers a lot of different "Why?" questions about a lot of different aspects of the storm (from meteorological to sociological). Probably just as well if not better than any one here could answer, at least me. Hahaha

To add to bpratt22, a pressure differential in the atmosphere with heat as an energy source to get it (wind) going. Nature's cleaner.Big%20Smile

Have to wonder about how this thread is progressing...

Apparently, if I read this situation correctly, it seems that:

Katrina = Wind = Snaike...

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I can only imagine. Whoa

Hope you stayed safe!

I was actually part of a team that did some legal analysis regarding the Army Core of Engineers' liability for all of what happened with the levies, etc. Arrived shortly after things had "stabilized."

Went back for the first time just this May though, it was nice to come for pleasure rather than work. Big%20Smile

Outside of that I've never seen any of LA, though I have friends there and would like to see more, I'm just a humidity whimp these days, and the joints only seem to learn more sailor language the older I get. LOL

What happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans.
The humidity is very, very bad right now.
