If you want a quiet computer you should be looking at the Slade. It is a great case for quiet.
The case choice is a matter of personal choice between the Apollo and the Velox. The Velox has great air cooling but is not as quite as the Slade. The Velox and the Slade are metal cases. The Apollo is mostly plastic. The Apollo is bigger than the Velox or the Slade. Which one you choose depends on how you like the looks and how quiet you want it. If quiet is your top priority then the Slade is the best choice. Frank |

None of our cases will cause the computer to overheat unless you suffocate the system (e.g: place it in a small cabinet with no spacing around it for air intake/exhaust). |

If you go with a Level 1 Over Clock then you won't see any difference between these 3 choices. The Velox is a sexy case with excellent cooling and a DS proprietary case. The higher price for the Velox is in the case cost. The Slade is a good case in its own right and known for being quite. It is the case people choose when they need a quite system. The problem is if you trap noise then you usually trap more heat. The Apollo is a full sized tower with lots of room and good cooling.

Just how loud is the Velox though, because I hate playing a game and all you can hear is the computer. Thanks.

Hi giants84.... It's a tough to say how loud any setup would be, Very subjective and depends on the parts you've picked, how far away it is, etc. A gaming rig with its higher end components will be louder than a box store pc with a single rear fan and lower level graphics card with passive cooling.
You will hear the fans, can't get away from it on most setups. I can hear my fans, but I don't find it distracting. Some fan noise for great performance is what it is. The graphics card and the mobo and cpu, especially overclocked, all need fans to kick the heat way. The Slade is the quietest because of the acoustic panels on the top and side. It also has a little less airflow being a closed case. The Velox with its generous fan setup is great for keeping pretty much any setup cool. All the setups here will stay safe from any heating issues. DS does test them. Some just do a better job keeping things at lower temps. It does come down to aesthetics in most cases or how cool you feel the processors should be. They are safe and work just fine in the high 70's C and low 80's, but enthusiast like the 60's or better if possible. Hope this helps and good luck. |
