Hi guys!

I am new to this forum. I am really considering buying the Aventum III because it looks awesome! I would like do a local pickup however because I live nearby. Do you guys think it will fit in a regular sized car like a toyota camry? Has anyone done a local pick up of an aventum III and used a regular sized car? I know its pretty big and I am afraid that it will not fit. Thank you!

I haven't picked up or own an Aventum, but a smaller box, still huge , for the Apollo type case, my ODE 600t, wouldn't fit in a car.    Some of it might drop into the trunk, maybe , but not safely for transport in my opinion.

A pickup or hatchback might do it.

Another thought is a Home Depot or other rental vehicle. Around here it's only $20 for the first couple of hours.

I think the box for the aventum may be a bit too big to fit in the trunk or in a car. May need a pickup

Suggestion: and forgive me if you've already thought of this...

Unbox it. Seatbelt the computer into the back seat seat of the car. Since you're driving to get it, if there's a problem you can drive back.

You'll handle it out of the box a damn sight gentler than the gorilla handed freight folks anyway.

The rig is not bigger than a human.

I kind of regret not doing the same thing. UPS sat on my Hailstorm all day yesterday and won't give it to me until this afternoon today. Painful knowing my comp is in the same city as I am and nothing is done to get it

Thanks for all the reply guys! This forum is awesome. @Snaike you have a good point. I may just unbox it and seatbelt the computer into the back seat. I have seen pictures of the box and it definitely looks huge. I'm also thinking of just renting a van haha. I really don't want to have it shipped because I don't trust those ups people.

Granted my machine is a bit smaller than yours... but watching it in the back seat, double belted in the middle, and driving like my first-born was in the car for the first time made me very certain that there was nothing going to be jarred loose in transit.

That's why I always recommend to people from Redding to Sacramento to Fresno and in toward the bay area to come and get it.

Spend a day of it, see the ocean, have a picnic and know that your newest toy is going to be safe and sound when you get home.

Take some soft padding material (like your bed's quilt) to protect the finish.Strong

i picked my Aventum 3 up and had them forego the box.  i just laid down some beach towels for protection.  it wouldn't have fit in the back of my Dodge Durango with the box.  it easily fits in the Durango w/o the box.  as for a reg. sized car, it would depend on how big your trunk space is.  you're gonna want to lay it on its side.   maneuvering it into a back seat/seating compartment will be a pita because it's heavy and quite large...young backs highly recommended!

Doesn't the Durango back seats go down? I'm surprised to see it not fit in that.

it was the width of the box not length that was the problem.  it might've fit, but DS people expressed concern as well.  i just told them to forget the packaging to keep it simple and get out of their quicker.

You must have a friend with a PU? Take him out for an ice cream or meal. If a friend of mine needed to use my PU, I wouldn't hesitate to help.
