Hello all,
I’m new to DS and the forum,I’ve been lurking around the forum and to say It’s been eye opening I do not have lots of confidence in the building of this gaming PC I will need help and your expertise in a monster machine with a Budget of 3 to $3,500 The budget is just for the machine. If we save some money great but let’s get the best bang for buck outta the budget, bling is welcomed, but not a must. This will be my entertainment gaming machine75% gaming the rest, large growing audio collection and photos I like to YOU TUBE, INTERNET SURF, BURN CD’s I have audiophile headphones and a 3 speaker system that I would like to be configured to the gaming System so a upper end sound card would be nice. I configured a build ticket #1809011 As just a starting point. Could you post it here,im using a iPad and not familiar. Looking forward to this build my monitor will be arriving next week. ASUS PG279Q ROG SWIFT Thank you very much, UMP57 |

Welcome to DS.
That configuration DST4ME created based on yours is a definite improvement. Like he stated, less stress and better quality memory and OS. I have that monitor and love it. That pc will rock that monitor. Let us know when you order. |

Yes, welcome. Might get the free on sale internal lighting. it might conflict with those fans, but it's got all kinds of modes, and with the remote, you can always turn it off completely.
Lol I like free 'cause it doesn't cost anything. |

Thank you for getting back as you did ,Hey everybody that’s what I call awesome
Customer service please disregard all previous build tickets, would you look over this last build ticket and critique and adjust for what you think is the best ( build ticket 1816527) Way to spend this budget for a awesome rig I did find a extra $600 in a shoe for budget so that changes things a little from 3500 to $4000 build, I still want to get The WD RED HHD2 TB but don’t see it in options how do I go about getting the Storage drive and price added to this build. I have more questions, that’s it for Now though. Thanks again for expertise and customer service . UMP57 Edited by UMP57 - 06 Jan 2018 at 5:50pm |

That is going to be a big NO boss, you have no use for a 10 core and lot of other stuff in that build, i put my build that I recommended against this any day for gaming.
I suggest instead getting things you won't use, you up the part warranty on my build. Save the rest or save it all, in 2 years you will need to upgrade your gpu. You can buy the wd red pro and have it sent to DS or ask DS to use one in your build. It will be extra of course. For gaming you only need a 4 core my build has 6 cores. For gaming you want 4.2 speed, my build has the 6 cores running at 4.3 to 4.7. Your 10 core has 2 cores at 4.3, rest at 4.0, and if you oc higher there will be lots more heat, so mine is running faster, cooler. Edited by DST4ME - 06 Jan 2018 at 10:58pm |

Thanks for getting back ,so go back to the build you suggested (1815818)
Add the WD 2TB HHD RED and that will be good for now with room to add to The system as it ages? If this is all correct I will push the button on the build You and crew have been great ‼️ UMP57 |

It is intel turbo boost for oc And win 10 pro for os Lol not intel turbo boosting win10 Yes put wd red pro in comments and understand that your price will be different, you should just contact customer service and have them give the final price with a config number for it. |

The 2002FFSX is newer with twice the cache and faster reads. If the price is right get the 2002.

I would drop the gpu overclock and OS Boost, But up to you. Overclocking the card gives little benefit for the added stress and OS boost isn’t necessary, the rig comes in clean plus we don’t know what they delete.
Rest looks real good. |

The thinking here is that the 8700K is already at 3.7 Ghz at idle, and will "turbo" up to as high as 4.7(!) under load. That's already plenty for gaming, so don't overclock at all. Stresses the proc for little or no gain.

For gaming that still primarily uses a single or dual core, is that a Turbo will boost one core to 4.7 with 8700k. Two cores will boost to 4.6 and so on until all 6 cores are at 4.3. This is dependent on the mobo also.
DS separate overclock might get all cores to 4.7 for apps that need 6 cores but that’s not guaranteed. There is an advantage to overclocking but not so much for gaming. |

With turbo on 8700k at max you get: 10,9,8,7,7,6 Core1 4.7 Core2 4.6 Core3 4.5 Core4 4.4 Core5 4.4 Core6 4.3 Our DMM has a 7440x, it has a 2,2,2,2, which means at max all 4 cores run at 4.5.(base 4.3) So you see, with that kind of oc from factory, you don't need more stress from manual oc, which you have to redo yourself fir better settings anyways.
