Vanquish II Level 4
Would it be a good ideal to change out the CPU from the Air unit to a sealed water cooling unit ? |

Are you worried about the temps? My Vanq2 lvl4 never runs above the mid 70s under extremely heavy load.

Yes because it will be doing gaming mostly sometimes for hours.

Well, the smart folks will have to come along and give you the pros and cons of putting it under water. I hope it works out for you...
Just as an aside, I've run over 24hours straight on Witcher 3 tuned to max graphics (except hair) and the 770 I have never broke a sweat. Up to 12 hours in one go in Fallout 4... If you use RealTemp, Speccy or HWMonitor you can get a read out of your temps, and then use Furmark to push the heck out of the card to see how high it goes with the present cooling system. Like I said, I've never seen anything over 75º. If it works, let us know. Perhaps it's something I could look into as well. |

Depends on the temps. Use HWMONITOR to monitor your temps. If they stay in the 70's, even low 80 or less than you're good. If the cooler is doing its job, like in Snaikes case, then longer gaming sessions shouldn't matter.
You can change the cooler easier enough if you want. Up to you. Can't hurt. Snaike popped in while I typed. Morning. Edited by bprat22 - 31 Jan 2016 at 12:29am |

actually, an air cooler will last you a lot longer than an AIO water cooler and most people can get by on mild overclocks with good air coolers. i'm not sure which air cooler came with your system, if it's any good, or how far you want to push your cpu overclocking. those questions all need answering before solid recommendations can be made. suffice it to say, if you are running at stock cpu speed you won't NEED and upgrade. if you are bumping up the clocks slightly you probably don't need to upgrade. if you want to bump to mid range oc, then i'd suggest the best air cooling (Noctua D14/D15 territory) or a 240/280mm AIO water cooler (check the Corsair line). if you want to push your cpu to the max i wouldn't risk my cpu on anything under a 360mm rad, which are supported by a small number of AIO water coolers, but normally entails a custom water loop (like the DS Hydrolux system).
