No, it was just a plain black background with the DS logo in the center. I'm so irritated with myself!

Hey Alex, by chance would you guys have a 1920x1080 version of the wallpaper? I also seemed to have misplaced my original DSO wallpaper once my computer arrived.

I had a similar problem. I was checking other backgrounds and then my nice DS 1920x1080 background disappeared. I looked in all the normal Windows 7 locations... I will grab one of the ones above but I am surprised I cannot find it anywhere...
Two questions:
1) Where is it on our hard drives?
2) Can I get a 1920x1080 version of the one above?

Hi, Guys.
Another newbie here. Same thing happened to me. Tried a new wallpaper on my new system, and my DigitalStorm Wallpaper vanished. Tried searching for it every which way, but no go. I did find a shortcut to a file named DSWALLPAPER.JPG, but there was no actual file to be found...anywhere.
Cool trick I'm guessing, but where was the file? What's the story behind the missing wallpaper files?
Thanks in advance. This is bugging me, too.

So with more searching I still have not found the missing wallpaper image. I did find a strange reference to a network location in my registry though. Probably something put in there when DS was putting the computer together and testing it.
But seriously, there should be a copy of the wallpaper image somewhere on our hard drives? Right?
If it is not that simple, can't we just get a new 1920x1080 version of it?

Select this wallpaper:

Wow, I gave up static wallpapers like 2 years ago. Have you guys thought about making a DSO animated wallpaper/Dreamscene? I would like that.

I use John's Background Switcher for handling multiple wallpapers. It's probably my second favorite utility after LastPass.
That being said, it would be great to add a 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 version of the DS wallpaper to that rotation. Where does DS store the wallpaper on the system initially? Mine's gone as well. |
