Greetings, I received my Vanquish 5 lvl4 Friday and been very pleased with my purchase. I plan on writing a review sometime soon when I get some time with this beast since I have been focusing on mid terms... Anyways I have only turned on my new pc three times since Friday (19Aug16) and when I turned on my pc this evening I got a surprise. It went through the main start up "Asus" and ran through the win 10 start up screen then turned black with no desktop or nothing. Literally it was a black screen and my mouse arrow for about ten minutes. However, I turned it off and it worked as it should.... I am curious if anyone else had this issue? Hopefully it will not continue as it scared the poo out of me... Thanks for any input!

Congratulations.Unplug any usb devices from it next time you boot up if it continues to hang. Sometimes they cause issues. W10 has some teething problems with devices. Good luck.

If it happens again, or check now just to be safe, make sure your video card and the ram sticks are seated correctly. Being a new delivery, something might've come loose in shipping. Check the SSD and HDD connections at the drives and the motherboard.
A video card driver install is another thought. Hoserator is right about Win 10. This could be an update that corrupted something. Hopefully this was a one time thing and all is well. Edited by bprat22 - 23 Aug 2016 at 4:16am |

Let us know what you find.
I've had similar, not quite that, problems that Malwarebytes and or CCleaner fixed. Try running those. |

If you get a blank screen when you go into the BIOS, your monitor might not support the resolution being outputted. Try a different monitor as well.

My issue is when the pc is turned on you see the option to go to the bios then it shows the WIN 10 icon and it goes to a black screen with just the mouse. If not shut down it will stay at this black screen with the mouse courser. I thought the problem would be solved... However it just happen just now as I tried turning on my pc... I hope it is just a win 10 flaw and not like a failed hard drive... Ugh not sure what to do?!
