Topic: For WoW only Posted: 23 Feb 2018 at 12:11pm |
Budget:
$600-$800 Expectations: I play WoW and WoW only. Would like to be able to run on at least high, maybe ultra settings. Not sure on monitor yet—but will use 27” inch iMac (2560x1440) via display port to get started until I decide on a more permanent one. Usage: Other low end, daily computing tasks might be utilized, but I intend on continuing to use my iMac for my music stuff and most other things. Bottom line is this will be almost exclusively used for WoW. I would like to have upgrade options in the future. I have read many things on many different forums, with all (of course) having widely conflicting and varying opinions. Would the Level 1 Vanquish be sufficient for these needs? TIA |

I’m not sure what WOW needs for ultra settings, but the level 1 would probably play it at 1440p. Not sure ultra settings, although WOW is relatively less demanding than most. If at all possible, the level 2 would probably double your performance with the better video card in case you ever played more demanding games.
I never played or looked into WOW, so googling video card requirements for WOW might help you decide. |

WoW is not demanding with their requirements. As posted on Battle.net, the minimum requirement:
•OS: Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 10 with latest service pack. •CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 or AMD Phenom II X3 720. •GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 440 or AMD Radeon HD 5670 or Intel HD Graphics 5000. •RAM: 2 GB. I would think the Vanquish lvl 1 would be able to run WoW at high settings. Although, as bprat has stated, the lvl 2 would be a major upgrade. |
