Whether the 9K for an Aventum is worth it is really up to you. It's DS's flagship system with one of a kind features. It is meant for those with a larger budget than most that just want something powerful and unique. Something special and a showpiece with pride. I love Alex's comparison so will use it again ..... You don't need a Lamborghini to get to work but what a sweet ride. A Hyundai or Honda or Ford for a fraction of the cost will do the job just fine.
That being said, a $4000 gaming rig will give you awesome gaming. Heck, even the ODE level 4, $2499, with sli, 2x gtx 670 will play great for most. You don't need water cooling but it is nice and can be made a bit quieter but is expensive. What rig you need depends on your monitor setup. If you game on a single 30" 2560x1600 then a sli gtx 670 or sli 680 is all you need for most games. If you game on a 3D surround, triple monitor then a tri-sli, gtx 670/680 might be what you want. As far as lasting the rest of your life, anything you buy now will probably need video card upgrade in 2-3 years if trends continue. In your config, for just gaming, the 3970X cpu and 32GB ram and tri-sli Titan is probably way overkill. But, if you have the $$ then go for it. It's all about the budget and what your expectations are. Edited by bprat22 - 17 Apr 2013 at 6:23am |

For the amount I spent on my system, I could have gotten an Aventum. It would not have been as powerful as the system I do have.

For the Display im going to use a Samsung 27 inch 350 Series LED (Widescreen) (Black) (2ms Response Time) but in the future im going with the 3 screens but like i said thats down the road
as far as graphics go i would like 3x sli TITANS but like you said if that way to over kill than i could consider just 2x but like you said thats a lot of money i do have pride in computers and by buying this computer it will be my crown jewel, i just want my first desktop to be beast and as a big gamer i want good components on my computer |

The Aventum is top of the line, with features only DS can give you. It is a very unique, high end system supported by an awesome company. Those that have them, love them. If you want something very special, and are willing to pay the added cost, then go for it. Chances are, nobody near you will have anything close.

Hear hear!
I see that whole line as a no-compromising computing experience. Three Titans are going to eat just about anything you can throw at it. If you decide to get it, please take a ton of pics! |

will be an awesome system. However it will not last you the rest of your life... you will have to starting upgrading parts in 4-5 years.

I wouldn't recommend you spending $10k on a gaming system. I honestly would be surprised if it lasted more than a year in a college environment. It will probably get stolen or damaged by some drunk idiot.
It's unrealistic to think any computer will last a lifetime. You'll have the fastest computer for a week, and then there will be something that's faster. Chances are within 4-5 years hardware will start failing and needs replacement. I'd estimate payments for $10,000 over 5 years to cost roughly $220 a month. |

If it is something you want go for it. The quality that you get is unmatched if you ask me. It is expensive but if you want the Baddest they have then go for it. Here is a pic to look at still in production. And for all the copper haters notice there is now an easy way to Remove the Pipes for future changes. On a last note if you can afford a 10K PC you can afford to upgrade it when need be.
