The 960 Pro is one of the fastest drives out there. It’s 4-5 times the read and write speeds over 850.    The 850 is restricted by SATA bandwidth, the 960 using the much wider bandwidth of Pcie interface.

Some call the jump from SATA to Pcie drives similar to the HDD spinning platters to SATA drives like 850 a few years ago.

Make sure your motherboard is compatible to m.2 like 960.

Lo, you couldn't pay me to get scandisk, forget that site.

Samsung makes their own ssd and are king in performance and reliability.

As bp mentioned the 960 pro is run from m.2/pci lanes. The 850 is run from sata. Sata has slower max speeds while m.2 max speeds are much higher.

So sata install is very easy, m.2 is a little more difficult, look them up and make sure you are comfortable and system supports it, now sata all systems do so you need to check for m.2 like bp said

IMO you wont be able to tell a difference between SATA and NVME. Save your money and get SATA for gaming

If you want quicker bootup times get a NVME
