Budget:
Flexible. I'd like to stay under $5k including peripherals and monitor but I'm willing to spend more if need be.

Expectations:
I've been out of the PC gaming world for quite some time and looking to make a triumphant return from the depths of console hell. I've never built/customized my own PC before, so I came into this with the expectation that the learning curve would be pretty steep. I quickly surmised that there is literally no chance that I would be able to build my own PC without ending up on the evening news. DigitalStorm is exactly what I'm looking for - I understand that I'll be spending more, but I see the value in their services. With that being said, I'd like to be able to play current/upcoming titles (Arma, Battlefield 1, etc.) at ludicrous/ultra settings on a higher resolution monitor. To be honest, my understanding of anything beyond 1080p is limited to the fact that I'm aware of their existence and they look amazing (Any clarification here would be greatly appreciated). Summary: I have a family and I work too much but my wife has given me carte blanche for this one. I don't get to game often, but when I do, I want to be able to play the latest and greatest without having to sacrifice visuals for performance.

Usage:
Almost exclusively gaming. No editing/Photoshop stuff. Arma, Battlefield 1, Squad, and other upcoming titles.

Special Needs:
Fairly low maintenance. Any future upgrades requiring more than a modicum of basic "plug male end into female end" knowledge, will probably be handled by giving DigitalStorm more money to do it for me.

Saved Ticket #: Despite spending the last two weeks pouring over the forums and looking at every single prebuilt option, I haven't been able to put "pen to paper" and save my own build. I'm pretty far out of my element here. I don't have any preference for the cases - They all look pretty sweet to me.

I submit myself to the mercy of the DS community. Thanks in advance for your guidance and feedback.

Welcome to the forums.

Here’s a build that has the most recommended parts and pretty close to what I’m looking to get in the near future.

You said beyond 1080p for a monitor, so I put in the gtx 1080ti in case you go 1440p at 144hz or 4 k.

The cpu cooler is very good.   You could change to the stage 1 air cooler since we not overclocking, so up to you.    The Air cooler is most reliable with no pump, etc to fail but the Corsair gives you headroom in case you overclock.

Just to add, I would up the warranty to 4 years labor and 2 years parts.   The first year goes by real quick and dealing with DS as one stop troubleshooting is the way to go.

Welcome to DS. That is one very nice system bprat22 configured for you. I would only change the OS to W10 Pro. It gives you some more control.

The sweet spot right now IMO on monitors are the 1440p/144hz and bprat22 has you more than covered with that 1080 Ti.
Enjoy. Awesome

Hey hose.....What monitor are you using ?   I know you mentioned it before.   I might go 27” 1440p at 144hz.     The OP might also want a suggestion.    Thanks.

Hi bprat22, you know there are many monitors out there. Crazy
I am using an Asus ROG Swift PG279Q (can be oc to 165Hz but I keep it at 144). It is an ips panel. Also have used a PG278QR which is a tn panel and also very good (also Asus).I have read here some are using an Acer Predator XB271HU and love it. Note that these are G-Sync and not FreeSync (AMD).

Thanks for the monitor info.     Get ready to trade in my good old Dell 24” for a new experience.

Knowing you, I am sure you will check the reviews and wow us with your find. There are some interesting panels out there. I stopped checking for 4K.  I love this one and don't think higher resolution is the answer for aging Mark I eyeballs. Big%20Smile
