Newly registered and first time DS purchaser!
I've just entered Stage 5 (last night) and am filled with chunks of anticipation. Thanks to these boards, I've had somewhere to go to commiserate with all the "can-hardlies" My Stage 1 started on 9/22 - and it feels like a Forever-Ago, though it has only been two actual weeks! What a strange feeling, to have a daily anticipation level of Much. Just wanted to huge-thank DS and the forums here especially, for giving me a place to go to feel Not Alone and catch some of the excess excitement from fellow DS-ers. Here's what my rig is looking like (or will be looking like sooonly) And btw: I know that my PSU is overkill... but didn't want to wait for the one I really wanted to be in stock... opted to power "up" with the one listed. Also, I do have another 4TB WD Black in my current rig that I'll be moving over (hopefully easily) into my new system. Chassis: Apollo Motherboard: ASUS X99-DELUXE USB 3.1 (Intel X99 Chipset) Processor: Intel Core i7 5930K 3.5GHz (Six-Core) (Unlocked CPU) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 2666MHz Digital Storm Certified Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (500GB Samsung 850 EVO) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (4TB Western Digital - Black Edition) Graphics Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (Includes PhysX) Power Supply: 1500W Silverstone Strider ST1500 Expansion Bay: Internal Digital Media Card Reader (Black) Optical Drive: Blu-Ray & DVD Writer/Reader (Burn + Play Blu-Ray & DVDs) (12x BD-R) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler (Extreme-Performance Edition) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled LED Lighting System (Multiple color options and lighting effects) CPU Boost: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires High-End Motherboard Selection) Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (64-Bit Edition) |

Me too!! Newly registered and waiting for my new PC. At stage 6 on 10/3. The anticipation is killing me!
Initially tried to order the Aventum 2 on Aug 18 and got caught in the switch between the 2 and the 3. Finally, after a little more than a months wait, the Aventum 3 order went to stage 1 on Sept 24. Hopefully, the order will ship this Friday and then another week wait to get it to NY. ********************************************************* Configuration 1286449 Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Aventum 3 Exterior Finish: Black Metallic Matte Finish Trim Accents: - Not Available Processor: Intel Core i7 6700K 4.0GHz (Codename Skylake) (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO (Intel Z170 Chipset)
System Memory: 16GB DDR4 2800MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX (Extreme-Performance)
Power Supply: 1200W Corsair AX1200i (BACKORDERED ETA End of September) (Digitally Controlled Power)
Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs) (Slim Slot Loading Edition)
Storage Set 1: 2x SSD (256GB Samsung 850 PRO)
Storage Set 2: 2x Storage (1TB Western Digital - Black Edition)
Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: RAID 0: Striping: Performance, But No Data Fault Tolerance Protection (Requires 2 HDDs)
RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (ASUS Strix Edition)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Z
HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux Level 1: Digital Storm Exotic Custom Cooling System (CPU + Chipset)
H20 Tube Color:Red Tubing (Requires Custom HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System (Requires Thermal Management Control Board & Software) Airflow Control: Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires High-End Motherboard Selection) Boost Graphics Card(s): - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Portable Gaming: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 15-20 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) |

Thanks for the welcomes, guys! Um, yeah... and with that overkilled psu... um... well, I guess it's better to overkill than underkill... maybe? Yeah?

Hey, eeekman! I'm in the NY area too (Hudson County, NJ, actually) so I'm also adding that "extra" week on to my crushing anticipation time too!

Welcome to DS and the Aventum. Once you go that route there is no such thing as overkill.

I'm on Long Island, eastern end. Your system setup looks nice! What kind of monitor are you going to drive with those 980ti's? I had a hard time choosing a new one and finally went with the Acer XB270HU bprz. Quite a few customers complained about quality control issues so I'm hoping I won't be one. I really wanted to go 4k but the monitor technology doesn't look to be ready yet. |

(Hope you didn't get too much Joaquin flooding out there, eeekman!)
I have a couple of Qnix 27" 1440p, and I agree with you about the 4K tech at this point. I think I'm more interested in one of those ultra-wide, curved 1440p screens down the road. I'm also thinkin' that my new rig will handle it when I do want to expand a bit. I've been running my current 1440p with a 7970 and it has served me well. I've loved my i7 2600 and 7970 for a few years now. Really excited about this whole new bump up! PS: Oh, HI, Alex-the-Great! |

I have been SHIPPED! (Well, obviously, not ME, MYSELF... but you know what I mean...) UPS says that I'm likely to get it by next Wednesday (10/21).
Such a jiggly feeling, I have; knowing that somewhere, right now in California on a lonesome truck, sits my wonderful new little (um: big) Box of Delight, eager to call New Jersey home. So, here's my updated timeline: 9/22 - Stage 1 9/25 - Stage 2 9/25 - Stage 3 10/5 - Stage 4 10/5 - Stage 5 10/12 - Stage 6 10/14 - Stage 7 and SHIPPED! |
