Newly registered and first time DS purchaser!

I've just entered Stage 5 (last night) and am filled with chunks of anticipation.

Thanks to these boards, I've had somewhere to go to commiserate with all the "can-hardlies"

My Stage 1 started on 9/22 - and it feels like a Forever-Ago, though it has only been two actual weeks! What a strange feeling, to have a daily anticipation level of Much.

Just wanted to huge-thank DS and the forums here especially, for giving me a place to go to feel Not Alone and catch some of the excess excitement from fellow DS-ers.

Here's what my rig is looking like (or will be looking like sooonly) And btw: I know that my PSU is overkill... but didn't want to wait for the one I really wanted to be in stock... opted to power "up" with the one listed. Also, I do have another 4TB WD Black in my current rig that I'll be moving over (hopefully easily) into my new system.

Chassis: Apollo

Motherboard: ASUS X99-DELUXE USB 3.1 (Intel X99 Chipset)

Power Supply: 1500W Silverstone Strider ST1500

Expansion Bay: Internal Digital Media Card Reader (Black)

Optical Drive: Blu-Ray & DVD Writer/Reader (Burn + Play Blu-Ray & DVDs) (12x BD-R)

Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)

Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio

Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler (Extreme-Performance Edition)

Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans

Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled LED Lighting System (Multiple color options and lighting effects)

CPU Boost: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires High-End Motherboard Selection)

Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability

Me too!! Newly registered and waiting for my new PC. At stage 6 on 10/3. The anticipation is killing me!

Initially tried to order the Aventum 2 on Aug 18 and got caught in the switch between the 2 and the 3. Finally, after a little more than a months wait, the Aventum 3 order went to stage 1 on Sept 24.

Hopefully, the order will ship this Friday and then another week wait to get it to NY.

Hey, eeekman! I'm in the NY area too (Hudson County, NJ, actually) so I'm also adding that "extra" week on to my crushing anticipation time too!

I'm on Long Island, eastern end.

Your system setup looks nice!

What kind of monitor are you going to drive with those 980ti's?

I had a hard time choosing a new one and finally went with the Acer XB270HU bprz. Quite a few customers complained about quality control issues so I'm hoping I won't be one. I really wanted to go 4k but the monitor technology doesn't look to be ready yet.

(Hope you didn't get too much Joaquin flooding out there, eeekman!)

I have a couple of Qnix 27" 1440p, and I agree with you about the 4K tech at this point. I think I'm more interested in one of those ultra-wide, curved 1440p screens down the road. I'm also thinkin' that my new rig will handle it when I do want to expand a bit.

I've been running my current 1440p with a 7970 and it has served me well. I've loved my i7 2600 and 7970 for a few years now. Really excited about this whole new bump up!

PS: Oh, HI, Alex-the-Great!

I have been SHIPPED! (Well, obviously, not ME, MYSELF... but you know what I mean...) UPS says that I'm likely to get it by next Wednesday (10/21).

Such a jiggly feeling, I have; knowing that somewhere, right now in California on a lonesome truck, sits my wonderful new little (um: big) Box of Delight, eager to call New Jersey home.

So, here's my updated timeline:
9/22 - Stage 1
9/25 - Stage 2
9/25 - Stage 3
10/5 - Stage 4
10/5 - Stage 5
10/12 - Stage 6
10/14 - Stage 7 and SHIPPED!
