To anyone looking to OC: BEWARE!
I took the plunge recently and OCed my rig. I only took it to 4.3, but now I'm hooked. I just want to push. I want more, I want to go faster... After a few days of trying to convince myself that 4.3 is fine, I just made a compromise and said "4.4 with a tiny itty bitty voltage bump won't be a huge deal". I've stabilized at 4.4 and now I know it's only a matter of time before I go to 4.5. Is there like an OC Anonymous meeting anywhere? I see where this is going, and I really can't afford to spend my mortgage money on coolers and mobos BCLK = 100 Multi = 44 Offset = +.040 peak Vcore under load = 1.14 temps = <60C (Nice cooler DS, thanks) Thanks again DS, for the great piece of equipment. |

I think just you being on this forum makes you a part of the OC Anonymous club! Maybe this can be the starting place for us to meet...

I don't think you qualify for OCA until you start trying to get above 5 Ghz

O(ver)C(locker) S(yndrom) comes in many forms... Firstly, you have admit that you have problem (OC'ing everything)...

Alex was in rehab for overclocking for 2 years. Working at DS is part of his reintegration into society program. They pay him in coupons.

Don't worry.. There is a cure (per say). Eventually you'll just get to a point where you can get your system to boot. And you'll be forced to under clock... Either that or go buy some Liquid Nitrogen, because once you get to the 1.5v things are cooking.
So you have that to look forward too... or you burn out your cpu due to cooling not being good enough. And that'll also stop you. So don't worry. Eventually you'll find one of two walls. ;) |

Speaking of LN2 cooling, are there any rumors floating around regarding a closed loop LN2 cooler? I've been looking around, but apparently a practical application is a freaking pipe dream.
