Expectations:
I want a computer that can run the newest games (AC: Syndicate, Far Cry Primal, Fallout 4, etc.) on the highest settings without overheating or making tons of noise. My last comp had a lot of overheating problems and the fans would spin so loud it sounded like an airplane taking off. Sometimes I'll play for 10-12 hours straight so I need a machine that can handle it.

change the seagate out for the WD Black. It's $19 more, a better warranty and a better product. (See, bprat? I ~can~ be taught!)

As for the rest of it, the experts will be rolling in shortly to give it the once-over.

Cheers!

In addition to the Excellent advice given by Snaike, , consider saving some money and changing the 5930k for the 5820k cpu. The only real difference is the 5930k has 40 pice lanes for graphics primarily and the 5820k has 28. Even if you go sli in the future, the 28 lanes is all you need and is plenty of bandwidth.

Not sure you need the side blowhole cut into the Velox. It does have side fans and ample cooling in general.   You could run it past DS.

Looks great and good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely went all out on the fans because I never want to experience what I was just through with my last one again. Is there any problems that can be caused with having the additional fans?

Hi yetiuprising,

bprat22 is right about the blow hole. The front lower 140mm fan blows direct into the CPU area. There are no obstructions between the fan and the CPU. The Velox uses a reverse motherboard set up and there are two 140mm fan mountings already on the side. These two fans blow directly onto the GPU area. A very nice set up for air cooled GPUs. I am not sure that the two 140mm fans are populated in a standard build. You might have to ask DS to install the two side fans. If you are fan nose conscious you might want to add the DS fan control panel. That will give you direct control of the fan speeds with software.

are you doing any rendering/3D modeling with this rig?  if not, i'd suggest going with a Skylake/Z170 platform.  it's faster for gaming.

beyond that, if you're really noise conscious, i'm not sure the Velox is the case for you.  i have no personal experience with it, but from its design it is a "wide open" case-meaning no sound dampening whatsoever.  you can mitigate this somewhat by purchasing the right fans and running them at lower speeds, but ymmv.  my advice for someone who wants an all around performer is to get the Apollo case.

This computer would be just for gaming. After looking at the Apollo case though I like that one better. Would anyone change their opinions on anything if I chose that case instead?

The Apollo, Corsair 760t, is an excellent choice and everything would stay the same.

Keep us updated.

Correction..... I would change something.... add some internal lighting.   You have the window for it and would complement the front led fans.

Thank you all for the advice. Saved me something like 400 bucks and I have a feeling this build is gonna rock being my first Digital Storm comp.
