Hi JNCslasher,
Welcome to the forum. Why would you think Digital Storm is going to rip you off? They are a resourceful, leading computer company that offer a good product. They are a profit making company and yes they do make some profit from every computer they sell. If they didn't, they wouldn't be in business. Making profit is not ripping you off. The Vanquish 3, level 4 is an excellent computer with a great cost to performance ratio. It has quality components with good performance. When you build your own computer you are the technician and assembler. Are you capable of trouble shooting a problem with a motherboard, power supply, GPU or CPU. Do you have a factory full of knowledgably people willing and able to solve your problems? Do you have spare parts sitting on a shelf? You don't need all of this support but it sure makes life easier when you have a problem. There are many people on this forum who have the ability to build their own computer but elect to buy from Digital Storm. We may pay more than it cost to build at home. However, it is so much better to have a good company ready and able to help us with any problems. Frank |

What Frank said.
Plus, what's the rig going to be used for? And what size monitor, meaning the resolution? If its a 1920x1080p monitor, you'll get very close gaming performance, within 15%, with the Vanquish 3 Level3. The level 4 does have a bigger psu and SSD and and the cpu comes overclocked, so really up to you. The Vanquish systems are best bang for your buck. Other than building yourself, you'll be hard pressed to find a better performing rig for even a couple of hundred $ more anywhere else. Good Luck. |

If you do a cost analyst of the DS systems, you'll see that you're barely paying over the cost of the parts yourself. Their margin of profit (comparably to you doing it yourself) is actually very low.
I tell anyone that if you're buying/building a gaming rig, spend at least $1500. That's the sweet spot for intro into the gaming world to have a PC that can pretty much play anything maxed out (at 1080p). The $1500 price range is specifically for the 1080p area. So, yes $1600 on the Vanq lvl 4 is worth it. You're barely paying more. You get the DS warranty. So a single stop shop should anything happen, rather than calling up all different companies, sorting out warranty info... etc. You do pay more than doing it yourself, but you get professional cable management, a support number to call should you have any question on anything, etc. The tiny cost to pay to have them do it vs you do it, is almost non-existent really. Because of all of this extra stuff you get. |

Honestly... just appearance. Go with whichever you like more. A one or two fan difference won't matter really. Especially if you keep your room nice and cool.
WoW, huh? lol, let's talk. What server? You raid? Progression? Also, 16:9. Your Vanq lvl 4 will destroy that. You can basically play anything you want maxed out. Time to upgrade to at least 1080p. |

DS will hate me for this, but you'd be better off just buying one off of like NewEgg or Amazon. Typically cheaper.
DS is cheap on everything you look at... except their monitor mark up isn't the best. I prefer ASUS monitors. So really any 21-24" 1080p monitor that fits your budget, I'd go with. Their VG series is really good (ASUS that is). Ah, I don't pvp really. I got glad the past few seasons, but that's just out of fun. This tier is the first tier I haven't been in the top 10 US rankings for pve progression. I'm in Vigil at the moment on Mal'ganis. We're a scrub guild chillin' at US 16th. We did finish last expansion as US 5th. #ScrubGuild |

The glow is the front fans's LEDs. Can't change the color here, but you can always change them later if you wanted.
The Alternate K380 case has a single front fan and the Default 230T case has 2x front and a rear fan. For this build either probably work otherwise DS wouldn't use them, but the gray 230T does have better airflow. |

Ah word. I need to get my 2400 rating in RBG's for the achieves. Never really did them. I usually just do 2v2 and 3v3. My glad was in 3v3 for the past several seasons.
I do still have my rank 1 mount from BC. I'll never get that again though. I don't pvp at all close enough to get that high up. Glad is pretty easy if you have a good comp/group of people to play with it. |

You mean the cases? I'd go for the Default , gray, 230T.
Everyone has a different version of "looks better", but that's my pick both for looks and airflow. |

Nope. It's a pre- built and no options to add or change, not that you'd have to.

I went with the 5 labor/3 parts, but that's up to you. A lot of the parts, like motherboard, graphics card, power supply have the manufacture's own 3-5 years anyways. But, with DS you can work just with them and they do all the work, instead of your own RMA. Easier but not necessary.
I got my money's worth with the extended when my graphics card died just under 3 years and they sent me a replacement . Not the exact card, but better from the same generation. Not sure what an RMA would've entailed. Edited by bprat22 - 16 Jun 2015 at 9:45am |

Hi JNCslasher,
You made a good choice with the default 230T. A very nice, clean looking case with more fans than the alternate case. You can add led light strips to the case after you get the computer if you just got to have it. Here is one example from Amazon that sells for $5.00. Frank |
