I don't quite know what I need so if you think a lower configuration would fit my need, I would love to know.

Also, should I wait for a promotion or holiday season to buy? I am not in a hurry to buy a new PC, my Lenovo Y510 works okay.

Hi WSjourney..... You didn't mention the monitor resolution which determines the video card.   If it's 1080p then your build should have little trouble with those type of games.      You are over budget but I can't see anything I would drop to save money and still have a nice gaming rig.

DS does not pre announce promotions so its hard to tell if or when one is coming.
If anything, I'd wait to see how the AMD chip (Ryzen) does. If it performs as advertised, I'll bet DS will include in its configurator and prices of systems should come down.
