Clay your synthetic benches don't mean much.

I thought you were posting your high oc with low vcore.

4.3GHz on 6950x is good but what is your vcore?

I am surprised to see 67fps at 1440p tho, but that is why synthetic benches don't matter.

I hear ya... i just post things to post and get opinions and such like what you just gave me above. I am going to leave it to the youtubers to post benchmarks about pc's and vram.. ect. I know there are a lot of variables that effect scores, fps, memory usage.. and all that. Also, Ive been using a 60hz monitor lately cuz my 144 broke

Don't listen to him. Synthetics mean plenty to some, just like they don't mean anything to others.

I, for one, enjoy seeing overclocks of any kind thrown against some synthetic benchmark. Just because they aren't "real world" doesn't mean they don't mean anything. They are a good baseline for comparison against other pieces of hardware as there isn't much variation between two people's tests. Plus they show max capabilities of hardware.

Please, share more as you continue fine tuning your system.

Don't listen to him. Synthetics mean plenty to a few like Meller, just like they don't mean anything to many others.

and the reason it does not mean much is because its a temporary clock only meant to push things to the limit for literally minutes/seconds.

So if you are looking to see what your pc will do on a regular basis, Synthetics benches mean Zero. If you are looking to see how far you can push your oc vs me then that is great but keep in mind that is comparing apples with oranges, since two 6700k or
6950x chips will have different limits to begin with, next throw in your ambient temps, cpu cooler, case and fans and what you have is an environment where its pure apples and oranges.

Now as I mentioned in my other posts, for your regular use which is what you are going for if I'm not mistaken, its best to start with the oc settings themselves first before we go with the clock speed, since for example a high vcore can and will reduce the life of your cpu under regular/everyday use.

gosh how many times do I have to correct Meller

There is so, so, so much wrong with this.. I might literally have a brain aneurysm. The idea that synthetic benchmarks are meaningless... omg. Just lol, omg. In the most non-basic white girl way possible, I just can even, right now.

People worry me sometimes.

That is ok Meller you always have your own views that is very different from most, it does not make you anymore right. You worry people sometime. good luck with the non-basic white girl issues.

Sure Synthetics benches have their own place but in the world of real performance for daily use its pointless, since it does not represent real world use. Now if you only want to just see/edit "synthetic benchmarks are meaningless" from what I said go ahead but that is not what I said.

Sure we can come to some conclusions based on Synthetics benchmarks but that is like instead of going from point A to point B, going from A to C to D and then to B.

There is a reason you don't see anybody use Synthetics benches to help people pick gpus, not me, not db188, not bp, not FO, not one person.

If you disagree then go ahead, to each his own.

i think synthetic benchmarks have their uses, like Meller says for testing two pieces of (nearly identical) hardware, against previous generations, overclocking, etc.

in the end, real world application is my deciding factor for a purchase.

so, i guess you're both right (my best King Solomon impersonation)Big%20Smile
