Budget:
[1500] Expectations: [Last 5 years] Usage: [My current desktop is a DS build from 2010.I have 4 external hard drives attached so storage is not a problem.I use it a lot s a HTPC so the soundcard needs a 51 fiber optic digital out unless the newer video cards support DD out through HDMI(mine doesn't).Also use it for light video editing(I have a youtube channel for example but it's a hobby)and a some light gamimg-Perfect Golf for example.I' m lookin at the Vanquish level 2 and 3.My first question is why cant I put more than 8 meg of memory in the level 2?Also when I try to get more info on the motherboards there is just a picture.Other models I can see the info and specs.] Special Needs: [Also want it to be vr ready] Saved Ticket #: [1383256 ] Specifications: [Please Type Here] |

The Vanquish Line is pre-built..meaning that there are very few choices in the way of configuration. This is done to keep this line competitive in the budget building range.
Should you wish more configuration options, look at the other models. |

The mobo in the past, I believe, has been the -Asus H81m-E, if you want to Google it. The Gigabyte board I couldn't say. Give DS a call for what they're using currently. They leave it vague, because the board in the lvl 1&2 are whatever they can get.
As far as memory, that board can handle more than 8gb, so DS would have to answer that also. |

Morning Snaike.... I don't think the Vanquish is considered pre built anymore. Here's a quote from Alex
And yes, all VANQUISH 5 orders will include stage update emails as they are all "build-to-order" and not "pre-built" as before. This will help prevent confusions and prevent missed delays. That said, the Vanquish is still a semi built, somewhat limited as opposed to the other custom models. Like you said, that's probably why no ram upgrade for lvl 2. Not pre built but not fully custom. |

Must be that graveyard you pull. I had to do graveyard for a week or so every several weeks filling in for vacations, sickness, etc. and was a basket case by Thursday night. Don't know how you do it.
