I put this together then noticed Batman posted his. Pretty close to Batman's and I'll post it because its ready to go. Either one is very good, the cooler and SSD being different..

You won't have overheating issues with DS builds. They test them and make sure everything fits.

Sure, that works great. I would however change to the Corsair H115 i cooler. The DS Vortex is very good, but the H115i is a 5 year warranty and you know exactly what your getting.
Changing to the 1070 TI gives you more performance if needed. If you game on a 1080p monitor, then the gtx 1070 will max most games. The 1070 Ti does give you more headroom to avoid needing a better video card as quickly. |

Looks good. I like the H115i more but that one is a good unit.
Go for it. |

Gotta chime in. I have to tell you I'm very disappointed in the H115i for how loud the thing is. I doubt the 110i is any better. The air cooler won't keep your temps quite as low, but will work just fine and save you $120 if that's important. Air is totally reliable and will keep your CPU at least 15-20C below anything harmful.
Otherwise that build is spot on. The all-in one cooler is efficient for sure, but.... Just my 2 cents. Mebbe bpratt would like to opine. Edited by Cretae - 01 Mar 2018 at 12:15pm |

I have the H115i and I don't find it to be much of a nuisance. I kinda accept that my PC is going to make at least a little noise.

I absolutely agree. Anybody that has read the forums for any length of time know of my support for air coolers if at all possible, and possible in this case. Air coolers work, rarely cause issues, nothing to go wrong, and can be quieter than all in one units. No liquid, no pumps, no firmware updates. I don’t try to change minds to air as much as in the past, the liquid coolers so popular plus Noctua not an option. Go air. Thanks for bringing it up. |

Yeah, if Digital Storm still offered Noctua, would have gone for that. Maybe it will make a comeback one day. |

Thanks for the support. I respect your opinions very much. The AIO has turned out to be a disappointment to me not only for the noise, but the lines block both my optical drive bays. Someday soon when I think I've gotten $174 of cooling, I think I'll order a brand new Noctua from Amazon and get gutsy about thermal paste. Until then, I think anyone on a budget and not interested the least in overclocking should at least be made aware the 212 EVO offered here is a very respectable air solution. @Batman, I got the Coridium case just so I could have an optical drive bay. It turns out it's fairly compact, and with the H115i radiator mounted at the top, it's much noisier than I ever expected or ever experienced with my old rig on a Noctua air cooler. I might look into quieter fans. Anybody happen to know what fits? Edited by Cretae - 01 Mar 2018 at 6:31pm |

Whereas I agree air coolers have less parts to go wrong, I respectfully disagree on noise levels. I have an H115i in a Velox and marvel as to how quiet it is. All you hear when "on" is a slight humm. Anyone that states that they hear the pump has a bad one.
In the past I have had various different (won't name since it is frowned here) boutique air cooled machines and they were noisy! The Velox is the quietest pc I have ever owned, even compared with my wife's Apple AIO (do they have fans?) My son built one with a Noctua cooler and I'll wager if you can tell them apart noise wise. I haven’t looked into it lately, but used to be the AIO with fans set to max or Performance were very noisy. Reducing rpm to low or middle speeds helped ALOT with noise without effecting heat very much. Could be the noise problem some have.

The statements made above are the sole opinion of the pc user who thinks he knows anything. He forgets easily that "he knows nothing". As soon as that cooler goes, a Noctua comes in. Edited by hoserator - 02 Mar 2018 at 3:07am |

Thanks to hose who brought it up, and bp who mentioned settings, I took another look at my profile via Corsair LINK software. I had set "balanced" in my "profile, and the fans were around 1500 RPM. Funny thing is when I select "Performance" OR "QUIET" they spin up to the max 2400, and sound like a leaf blower! Must be something wrong there.
BUT, when I go to the "Configure" heading they show an interior shot of my case with various temps for the CPU,GPU,SSD,H115i itself, and the pump RPM and rad fans RPM. If I click on the rad fans RPM, I get to select "Quiet" mode and the RPMs go to 960-1020 and I get the hoserator experience! I have never heard anything out of the pump itself. This fan speed is SOOO much better! My temps were in the 30's and 40's C occasionally drifting into the low 50's on the CPU. LOTS of headroom there for this new fan speed, no doubt. I'll keep an eye on things for sure, but my DS Coridium experience with the rad fans mounted at the top about 2.5 feet from my right ear just got a coupla lightyears (or is that parsecs? ) better! The forums and their braintrust strike again and teach and ol dog a fabulous new trick! Thanks, guys. Hose, you da MAN! Edited by Cretae - 02 Mar 2018 at 4:19am |

On my noisy Aventum 2 when I turn the fans on high they sound like a wind tunnel test center. Right now humming along quietly at the "auto" setting on the DS Control Center. CPU temp 36-37C The Velox is way quieter! (less fans)
@Cretae: I can understand how you wondered about how quiet lc was with your fans blasting next to you. Glad you got the noise down. |

An Oscar-worthy performance, to be sure. The character development was second to none and the diverging plotlines were brilliant on their reveal. I applaud the director and know that this will be the first of many many awards to come his way. |
