Topic: Question about surround sound headset and laptops. Posted: 04 May 2012 at 10:17am |
I spoke with a member from the live chat asking if surround sound (eg Logitech G35/ Razer's Tiamet 7.1 etc.) headsets could be used on this configuration:
Chassis Model: Digital Storm x17 Laptop (Model: 9170) Display: 17.3 Inch (16:9) (Resolution: 1920 x 1080) (Glossy Surface) LED-Backlit Display Processor: Intel Core i7 3820QM (2.7 GHz Turbo Mode to 3.7Ghz) (Quad Core) (8MB Cache) Thermal Compound: Premium IC Diamond CPU and GPU Thermal Compound (Reduces Thermal & Laptop Noise) Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Primary Hard Drive: Intel 180GB SSD (520 Series) (SATA 6Gb/s) Secondary Hard Drive: 750GB 7200RPM (SATA 3Gb/s) Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Player (Blu-Ray 6x) & DVD/CD Writer Wireless Card: Intel Ultimate-N 6300 Wireless LAN Module Video Card(s): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M 2GB with NVIDIA Optimus Technology Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Warranty Plan: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty I just wanted to verify what he said cause he didn't seem 100%. He said if it uses a USB to connect it shouldn't matter because that bypasses the sound card. The logitech site itself says you don't even need one (a sound card) for their G35 headset. I'm just getting back into computer gaming so I'm pretty out of date with that kind of stuff so if anyone has some helpful info on this that would be greatly appreciated. |

Nope, no sound card required, the G35's will work just fine with that setup.
