Its about 2 to 6 fps better than the 970 gtx, the 1060 is gonna kick its butt up and down the street for the same price range.

runs pretty hot for the performance it offers, runs hotter then a 1080 with performance of a 970.

For the price I guess its good for the budget builder till the 1060 comes out of course which is soon.

If I know Nvidia and I like to think I do after all these years, its gonna match the performance and beat on price or beat on performance and match price.

But lets see what it does, I can't wait to see it myself.

A very interesting video to watch regarding the new RX 480s. tl;dr version is that these cards are power limited. Meaning whether or not you overclock the core, or leave the clocks stock, you get the same performance in these stock versions.

The reason being, they are literally power starved. The second you turn up the power limit, even on stock clocks, performance gains are seen. Apparently with the one six pin connector, the card isn't even able take full advantage of the stock core clock. More power obviously means more heat and power draw on your psu. Seems they purposely gimped a stronger cards' power in order to deliver a product with lower power draw. This would explain the PCI E problem being seen with these cards going over the maximum power draw spec.

Still, it's going to be interesting to see how AIB's perform with this card once they add the necessary extra power connector, and cooling.

Some people are reporting dead Motherboards which may be due to the power draw exceeding spec on the PCI-e slot.

I think if you want this card I would buy one that has an 8 pin or 2- 6 pin power connectors not a single 6 pin.
