Topic: SLADE 2 Build for Photoshop Posted: 02 May 2017 at 11:13am |
I am currently researching for a new photo editing system. I have been using an iMac since 2011 and it has become less able to handle the stress with every passing upgrade to Photoshop. It is almost to the point of being unusable now. Therefore, here I am. I have heard good things about DS and have put together a system build. See below.
My use will be almost entirely Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing. Almost no gaming, but I like to have the option to be able to support 4K gaming should the mood strike me. Monitor will be: LG 31MU97C-B 31" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor Native Resolution – 4096 x 2160 I am looking for any recommendations on my choice below. Hi HoneyBadger.... The build looks good. I would've thought the new. AMD Ryzen processors with their 6 and 8 cores would've been the choice for apps like Lightroom, but, nope. Testing I've seen show the 7700k doing much better.
Unless you plan on adding another 1080ti in sli, a 750watt psu should do it. Nothing wrong with the 1000 watt but you could save a few bucks. Under Recovery tool pick the CD. If your drive dies the partition won't do much good. You can download and burn your own ISO to a flash drive from MS but it's not much more picking it here. Hope this helps. |

Well I picked up my system at DS on June 1st and have been installing software and just getting used to a Windows computer after moving from an iMac. I must say DS systems are everything I remember them to be. Fast, 16 seconds to boot from cold start to desktop using Windows 10 Pro. First support call was very helpful. Answered all my questions and then some. Very satisfied with my build.
Thanks DS! |
