So, I just ordered 2 XFX XXX 280 GTX cards.  I currenly use 2 8800 Ultra cards.  I am using a 790i motherboard.  Can I use the SLI bridge that i'm currently using (with the 8800 Ultras) for the 2 280 Gtx cards? Or do I need a wider bridge?  Do the cards come with a bridge?

"(with the 8800 Ultras)"  That confused me a bit heh.  I'm sure you meant to say use the SLI bridge from the 8800 Ultras.

Anyways yes you can.  You're just swapping places of the 8800s then you can use that exact same SLI bridge chip.  Usually I see two variants of the two-card-SLI types.  The one where it's solid and presumes that the cards are close (strict specific range)

Then usually there's the flimsy flexible Bridge ones.  The triple SLI one is never flimsy lol.

But yes you can use that same Bridge.  Which is funny since a video commented having so many of those SLI bridge's.

SLI bridges are generic! woo! If they were specific to the card, they would come with the GPUs instead they come with the mobos.
