I don't understand the thought behind this to be honest. i'v built my own system's before and i don't find it fun at all and i'm not good at it. so why have prebuilt's got a bad name? i personally blame company's like dell. What do people here think?

The ones that slam having boutique builders build their gaming rig are the ones that want to save the money by building themselves, plus some enjoy the experience. Nothing wrong with it, as long as you're willing to do the troubleshooting, repair, rma part returns, etc. Everyone to themselves. I've done both.
You are right, some companies have given gaming rigs a somewhat bad name by using proprietory parts that are hard if not impossible to upgrade or repair themselves. Plus their performance to dollar return can be high. Here at DS you are getting off the shelf parts, easy to upgrade and replace, a quality assembly job and excellent phone support. Some companies do offer at- your- home repair, DS doesn't, but that one benefit , IMHO, doesn't justify going with them. |

Yeah building it your self can be much cheaper but sometime's you just don't want the hassle esp since this system is gonna be watercooled i would mess that up so bad. As for DS i did like two week's of research before i even put in my order so i was a bit paranoid i guess you can say but i'm optimistic about it now and can't wait

Congrats on your new rig man. Just be aware that water cooling still requires some maintenance. It isn't that hard, but issues can pop up like the Algae build up I found in mine. I will admit that I was a bit daunted with replacing my tubing and adding a drain port (Personal choice rather than just trying to flush), but it was actually kind of fun and not that hard. |
