Hi everyone,

So I've ordered a Velox which has been in stage 5 since 10/3. After reading through these forums for the past few days I get the feeling that this stage takes the longest?

I am so excited about getting my new PC and I was starting to be proud of myself in practicing my patience but I guess nobody can avoid the stage fever completely !

Ah well just a few more days I hope... What do u guys think? Stage 5 the tough one?

Hang in there... let them stress the heck out of it and make sure it's perfect instead of banging it out the door and having it not be all you want.

Actually, and I hate to bring this up, the toughest stage is shipping. That's when it's out of DS hands and not yet into yours. Instead, it is in the nebulous cloud of "somewhere" and the tracking features of most shippers are notoriously and woefully inadequate.

While the machine sits in DS's workshop, you know it is being well cared for and looked after. Once it hits the door, well.... you know.

To calm any anxiety we just instilled, shipping is no problem for most. Meditate and become one with the box.

Haha, yes stage 5 was the worse for me. Mine was in that stage for a while. The shipping part wasn't so bad for me. At least at that point I knew when it was getting to my door.

Interesting, thank you all for your thoughts. However, I actually live relatively close (a few hours drive time away) from DS so I thought the shipping part would be over with quickly...

If it wasn't for my crazy job and for the fact that shipping was free with my order, I probably would have made a day trip out of it and would pick it up in person.

Today is Friday, come on stage 6 *checks emails frantically* :)

Also if I dare ask, have most of your PCs been working smoothly out of the box? Although I'm a gamer my skills with the actual PC are severely limited and I hope there won't be any issues... Example:

My last PC from 2010 was from another company that a friend suggested and the motherboard broke down within weeks! So yeah I knew since then I would be going to DS next time :)

Most PCs from DS, because they test them so thoroughly, are very user friendly right from the box. You'll be surprised.

I just got my PC in this past Wednesday and it has been flawless out of the box. I haven't had a lot of time to really play for hours on end but I did play the new Battlefront Beta at Ultra setting flawlessly. Played a few MMOs (albeit not very demanding) at Ultra. It is everything I ever hoped for in my new gaming rig.

I hit 5th stage two days ago, but then I only ordered on 9/29, so it looks like things are moving pretty quickly for me. Of course, I suppose I could sit here fro three weeks now. I hope not. I am anxious to give this thing a try.

I am sure your rig is fine. Why don't you call them and get an update? Maybe they are waiting on a replacement part or something. I hope you wait is over soon!

So I was in contact with Alex and he mentioned stage 6 was just 1-3 business days around the corner - Alex rocks!

But then guess what? The next day (today) I get stage 6 e-mail, stage 7 e-mail, and that my PC has shipped already with the tracking number!!!DroolingDrooling

Alex double rocks?? Big%20Smile Anyways since I live close I'm hoping I will get to play games on my new PC by Friday evening!! Wish me luck guys and thanks to Digital Storm in advance! Super excited!!

Since we are on the subject Alex. What would be the cost of 3 day air to 30179? and will putting "Fragile" on it remind carriers to be careful with it? I purchased one DS a few years ago and had no problems, but shipping anxiety is always there if I stop to think about it. Admittedly, the wait-and-wonder is easier the 2nd time around.

This is truth. Freight companies handle all boxes the same.. the difference is not what they look like, or have written on them, but it's the weight. The weight of the box determines how it's handled.
