Hello guys. I am new to the Digital Storm forum community. I was wondering if the Vanquish 7 Level 1 Model was sufficient enough for 1080p gaming. I want to know if the internals are any good. And if they are mediocre, should I go for the Level 2? I’d really like someone’s opinion as it would help a lot. Thanks! (Also I’m posting on this thread because it’s the first one I found)

I would go with a level 2. If level 3 is within your budget, that 1060 6gb video can handle anything in 1080. Otherwise the level 2 would be very good for gaming at 1080 resolution.

Did they used to put 1060 in level 2? I was reading some older Vanquish 1 discussions thread and people are saying pick the level 2 for the 1060. Right now when I look at the website it has 1060 on level 3 Vanquish and 1050 ti on level 2 Vanquish. |

That's correct. The Vanquish line is partially pre-built in advance, which is why there's no substitutions as there is for the custom builds. They are intended to offer a lower priced unit with a very reasonable selection of parts at a bargain. They are selecting those parts to hit a price point target rather than a specific collection of parts.
Unfortunately, the price point that's attractive to you no longer includes the GTX 1060 because the bitcoin and other currency miners have created a real crisis of supply in the GPU market. Prices have been driven way up to pretty silly heights. Not only is the 1060 too expensive right now to go into the level 2, but the level 4 used to include a GTX 1080 for $150 less! This is not DS trying to downgrade parts, but trying to maintain those attractive price points the best way they can. I'm so sorry you have to pay so much more for less right now. You can either pay up, or try to wait it out. It may be good for the market that Nvidia is due to come out with the next gen cards fairly soon. They may be pricey as well, but at least they will more powerful. |
