Topic: Vanquish 7 level 2 and world of Warcraft Posted: 05 Apr 2018 at 9:40pm |
hello all,
I’m new to the community and ds forums. Recently just purchased my first digital storm computer a vanquish 7 level 2. I got this rig for the sole purpose of playing world of Warcraft and was wondering if anybody could give me some insight on what my frame rate might be and what grapchis setting I can max this rig out on. Currently I am gaming on an outdated ********** that is giving me 30 FPS MAX on low settings and that doesn’t even consider raid environments and what nott, this is just standing around in capital city zones. Haven’t received my computer yet just hoping for a better gaming experience and I’m hoping this computer will make thing s better for me. Any Input is greatly appreciated. My specs are as follows: Chassis Model: Digital Storm VANQUISH 7 - Level 2 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (Turbo Up to 3.6 GHz) (6-Core) 3.2 GHz Motherboard: ASUS / MSI (AMD B350M Chipset) (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices) System Memory: 8GB DDR4 2400MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 600W Digital Storm Performance Series (Supports up to an NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPU) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: - No Thanks Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (240GB Digital Storm Performance Series) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (2TB Seagate / Toshiba) Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: Wireless USB ASUS N13 (Supports 802.11n/g/b) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: AMD Standard Factory Heat-sink and Fan HydroLux Tubing Style: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected HydroLux Fluid Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled LED Lighting System (Multiple color options and lighting effects) Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stock Factory Turbo Boost Advanced Automatic Overclocking Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: USB Drive - Windows 10 Installation (Format and Clean Install) Virus Protection: Windows Defender Antivirus (Built-in to Windows 10) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 20-25 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) - dylan ...competitor name removed... This guy has Ryzen 5 1600 with 1060 6GB. He ran WoW on max settings 1080P resolution and I think his fps was 70-90. Hope that helps. I believe the cpu usage being high was due to his use of video capture software. edit: For 1080p I would go with a 1060 over the 1050 ti if budget allows, that's my personal opinion. Welcome to DS and the forums!
The WOW minimum specs are so low that I can't see how this 1050Ti, with 4 GB of GDDR5 (!!) will not handle the game really well. I was recently gaming fairly well on a 7 year old AMD 5870, and making it work okay (on 3 year old games). When I started my research for the new system I got, I was blown away by how the lower tier cards just blow the older top tier away. It's true the 1060 will be stronger going forward for more demanding games, but WOW isn't one of those. It's a shame the GPU shortage has caused such a price premium due to digital coin mining. That's rapidly becoming a very risky thing, so hopefully we'll see easing in the next gen. In the meantime, be assured the 1050Ti is a heckova card compared to state-of-art just 2-3 years ago.
